Lee Jong Suk Donates Personal Items To Charity Fundraiser

How much would you pay for something that touched one of your biases? The bidding for a single earring belonging to actor Lee Jong Suk's reached $1,200 in one charity auction but then the star of "I Hear Your Voice" is pretty popular right now.

His lightning-shaped earring also had special significance for his fans as he started wearing it when he played musician Han Tae Sun in "Secret Garden." Since that was his second role, it meant he has worn the earring almost since the beginning of his acting career.

The entire cast of "I Hear Your Voice" partnered with the online shopping mall, Auction, in a fundraising event. Each cast member donated items that would be auctioned off. It was not the only item that Lee Jong Suk donated. He also contributed a set of headphones that reached bids of $600. The headset is not actually his but it is the same brand that he usually wears.

Lee Bo Young donated an Armani scarf, which was bid at $300, while Kim Ga Eun's sunglasses were priced around $100. Lee Da Hee and Yoon Sang Hyun each donated sneakers with bids in the $100 range.

The auction began July 8 and ended July 14. The starting price for bids was about one dollar. The profits that the auction earned will be donated to the Community Chest of Korea.

Although Yoon Sang Hyun was not annoyed that Lee Jong Suk's earring earned ten times as much as his sneakers, the actor recently confessed that he had other reasons to be annoyed with him. Yoon Sang Hyun and Lee Jong Suk acted in another drama together, "Secret Garden." Yoon was annoyed that he had so many lines when he played Oska and Lee Jong Suk had so few.

"I felt annoyed with him sometimes because of this," he said with a pretend pout when he was interviewed on a recent variety show.

But Lee Jong Suk was quick to respond.

"Recently I met the writer of 'Secret Garden,'" he joked.  "She asked me, 'Does Yoon Sang Hyun still have difficulty memorizing lines?""

Yoon Sang Hyun is never happy to be acting with tall actors.

"I worked with actors Lee Jong Suk and Hyun Bin," said Yoon of his "Secret Garden" co-stars. "Both are really tall so I couldn't help but be wary whenever I had scenes with them. "I am not short but they are so tall I had to stand on a footstool. They could have worn regular flats but they wouldn't."

Maybe the reason he donated those sneakers was that he wanted to buy a pair of shoes with higher heels.
