Park Jung Min, the actor, is thrilled with his part in the upcoming spy movie "HUMINT." He says that the character is emotionally complex and important to director Ryoo Seung Wan's latest project. The movie will come out on the 11th and is about a tense mission taking place in Vladivostok.

Park recently talked about the project and his time on set in an interview with Donga.com at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, according to Allkpop. The actor talked about rumors that Ryoo cast him in the movie as a kind of "after-service" after they worked together on "Smugglers."
Park said in response to the rumors, "I don't think he cast me with that intention, and I didn't feel that way either. I actually like my character Jangdori in 'Smugglers' more than people might expect. When I first received this script, I didn't see it as this much of a melodrama."
He went into more detail about why he wanted to play Park Geon. "What I really appreciated was the emotional range of the character Park Geon. His emotional shifts are quite large, and those moments feel like they continuously leave strong marks as the story unfolds. I was happy to be able to play an important character in a Ryoo Seung Wan film. We first met years ago while shooting a short film, and as we stayed connected, it felt meaningful that he now entrusted me with a role like this."

Park also talked about how he felt about the script at first, according to CINEPLAY. "At first, I was simply happy. It was such a good role. As an actor, I often go through this process, when I first read a script and like the role, I'm excited, but sometimes I can already sense how difficult the preparation and filming will be, which can be intimidating. I know expectations are high, and if I disappoint during preparation, it can hurt both sides. So I tried my best not to let that happen."
After early screenings and good reviews, Park cautiously talked about how people were reacting. "If someone has watched several of my previous films, I hoped they would feel that this was a different kind of character than what they've seen me play before. I didn't necessarily expect so many compliments. Right now, it's more important that the film as a whole does well rather than focusing on just one character, so I'm watching carefully and staying cautious."
He said, "I was glad to hear people say my fans would enjoy this performance. Showing a side of Park Jung Min that audiences haven't seen before is encouraging, and I take that as a meaningful compliment."
"HUMINT" is about people with different goals coming together in Vladivostok, a frozen port city where secrets and truths sink beneath the ice. In the Korean movie, Park Jung Min plays Park Geon, who is known for his cold judgment and quick decisions. When he meets Chae Sun Hwa, he goes through unexpected emotional turmoil, which adds depth to the high-stakes spy story.
