Katy Perry Outnumbers Justin Bieber on Twitter; Top Celebrities Most Popular on Social Media Network (Photo/Video)
Katy Perry may have been rejected by ex-husband Russell Brand after divorcing her through text, but social media has been giving Robert Pattinson’s BFF nothing but love. The English singer “roars” her way to Twitter as she outnumbers Selena Gomez’s former sweetheart, Justin Beiber.
The “Fireworks” singer has officially outranked Bieber as of Nov. 4, 2013 as her official account on Twitter recorded leading 2,000 followers over Bieber. John Mayer’s sweetheart has approximately 47-million followers, outnumbering “One Girl” hit singer who has been Twitter’s most popular celebrity, with the most number of followers for nine months.
The Verge noted that both Bieber and Perry are still adding more followers to their official accounts but the Prism singer appears to be have significant number of followers added to her account than Bieber.

Before Bieber could take the lead for nine months, Lady Gaga was the queen of the social media and she has been one longer than either Bieber and Katy. The Alejandro singer topped the most popular celebrities on Twitter since 2010 and crown was only stolen by Bieber in February 2013 at the 3.3 million follower mark. Katy Perry even surpassed Gaga in August 2013 at 39 million followers.
The Twitter counter shows Lady Gaga still holds the No.3 spot on the social network site. Rounding off the top 5 of the top most popular celebrities on Twitter is President Barack Obama at No. 4, followed by Taylor Swift at No. 5.
