As mentioned by a media outlet, the 20th Civil Settlement Division of the Seoul Central District Court had its first hearing regarding Lee Seung Gi's dispute against Hook Entertainment for the "non-existence of debt" filed by the agency.

According to the news portal, the talent label changed their position regarding the claims and requested to "get back 900 million KRW or 691,000 USD in advertising fees from Lee Seung Gi."

Initially, this lawsuit included the intention of confirming that Hook Entertainment "has no more debt" after the company paid the singer-actor about 5.4 billion won in settlement.

Lee Seung Gi Demands Additional 3 Billion KRW from Hook Entertainment

Following the court's update, Lee Seung Gi's side filed a counterclaim regarding the dispute.

As mentioned by the same outlet, the actor is requesting an additional 3 billion KRW from his former agency.

It was after a representative from his current agency, Human Made, said that they are still "in the position that we have more settlement money to receive as much as we have done."

On the other hand, the legal battle between Lee Seung Gi and Hook Entertainment is set to continue, as the court has decided to hold the next hearing on August 25.

The goal is to finalize the data collection related to the settlement amount. In addition, the hearing will also include witnesses.

The dispute comes after Lee Seung Gi claimed that he has not received revenues from his music for the past 18 years since his debut.

Due to this, Hook Entertainment filed a lawsuit in December, confirming the non-existence of debt.

For their claim, it says that the company paid the "Vagabond" star the "unpaid settlement amount of 2.9 billion KRW" as well as the "delayed interest equivalent to 1.2 billion KRW."

On the other hand, the counterclaim of Lee Seung Gi's side points out that "there was never an agreement with Hook Entertainment on the settlement."

Because of the exposé, Hook Entertainment received massive backlash from the public, calling it "slavery" against the actor.

Despite the court battle, Lee Seung Gi remained active both in music and in acting.

In fact, he is making a comeback to the big screen with an interesting film with Kim Yoon Seok, for "About Family."
