Kang Dong Woon dished on his deeper connection with Gong Yoo.
During his guest appearance on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," the award-winning actor spoke about his family, including how he was related to the "Goblin" actor.

Kang Dong Woon and Gong Yoo are among a slew of celebrity friends who discovered friendship within the entertainment industry. However, their closeness is deeper than that.
During his interview, he was asked about his relationship with FC Seoul's young soccer player, Choi Joon Young, who happens to be his nephew.
As mentioned by a media outlet, the actor confirmed that they are related, adding that most of their family members are quite tall; hence, Kang Dong Won's height.
"My family members are a little big. My parents are all very tall. I was little in elementary school then grew to 154cm tall in middle school. I was 183 cm tall in high school and later grew 3cm taller later on."

It can be recalled that Kang Dong Won's family history was brought up in the TMI News program back in 2004.
At the time, Kang Dong Won called his father to confirm that Gong Yoo and his grandfather were also best friends.
To make things interesting, both of the actor's grandfathers introduced their siblings to each other and ended up marrying each other. This made Gong Yoo and Kang Dong Won in-laws.
Apart from being best friends and relatives, outlets revealed that it was Gong Yoo who recommended Kang Dong Won to Director Yeon Sang Ho for the "Train to Busan" sequel movie "Peninsula."
How is Gong Yoo Related to Gong Hyo Jin?
More than their similar surnames, Gong Yoo and Gong Hyo Jin have the same ancestors.
In an episode of KBS's variety show "Entertainment Company Live" where they uncover interesting Korean celebrity families, the South Korean hearthrob and award-winning actress was among the celebrities mentioned.
It turned out that the "Goblin" star belongs to the 79th generation of the Gong family, while Gong Hyo Jin is in the 81st generation.
Interestingly, in one of Gong Hyo Jin's interviews, she briefly responded to rumors surrounding the actor's rumored marriage to Jung Yoo Mi.
The "When the Camellia Blooms" star jokingly said, "It's driving me crazy. Why isn't he ever rumored to be [dating] me? I hate that more!" and even joked about being siblings because of their surnames.
On the other hand, it is unknown whether Gong Yoo attended Gong Hyo Jin's wedding in 2022, but among her guests were her best friends Jung Ryeo Won and Uhm Ji Won.
