'Exhuma' Gives Kim Go Eun New Experience in Portraying Challenging Role

The new spine-chilling film "Exhuma" is coming to cinemas this February. But before its much-awaited premiere, one of its main cast members Kim Go Eun shared the preparations she did to fully immerse herself in her character. 

"Exhuma" is an occult mystery film that tells the story of strange events happening around a geomancer, shamans, and an undertaker after they relocate a mysterious grave for a large amount of money. It is directed by Jang Jae Hyun, who helmed "The Priests and Svaha: The Sixth Finger."

Kim Go Eun takes the role of Hwa Rim, a young shaman with unique skills in the country, she is the one who initiates the unfolding events by suggesting the exhumation of Sang Deok (Choi Min Sik) the geomancer and Young Geun (Yoo Hae Jin) the undertaker.

During the movie's media press conference, the actress talked about her preparations for her role as a shaman.

Since it is a character that needed to show professionalism, the "Little Women" star put an effort not to look amateur in portraying the role. 

"To immerse myself in my character, I got the personal number of a real shaman, contacted them regularly, and visited their home. For the ritual rites scenes, I watched videos and rehearsed multiple times to make every detail perfect."

Through doing all these things, Kim Go Eun exhibited her dedication to embodying Hwa Rim's character, and it has heightened expectations for her upcoming acting. 

From the stills and video teasers, the female star already gave a sneak peek of her role which piqued the interest of the viewers, making them excited to watch Kim Go Eun's soon-to-release movie. 

Apart from Kim Go Eun, "The Glory" actor Lee Do Hyun is also part of the main cast and will play the role of a shaman too. It will be their first project together, and viewers are already looking forward to seeing them in one frame. 

Despite his absence as he is currently serving in the military, Lee Do Hyun made a surprise video greetings for the fans and his co-stars, which was shown during the press conference. He was disappointed as he couldn't attend and join the cast at that moment. Hence, he invited everyone to watch the movie in cinemas, which is scheduled to hit the big screen beginning February 22.
