‘Captivating the King’ Episode 4: Jo Jung Suk Breaks Shin Se Kyung’s Heart

Lee In Replaces the King
Because of his strained relationship with his family, Lee In (Jo Jung Suk) must now submit himself as the spy in the palace.
However, his brother, the king, collapses even before he receives his judgment. The king orders him to find the one who poisoned his herbal medicine.

Through this, he can ascend to the throne. However, he tells the minister of war that he will assume the throne after the king's burial.
Lee In Displays Greedy Side
The minister of war requests Go player Kang Mong Woo (Shin Se Kyung) to bring evidence for Lee In's arrest for treason. However, Lee In says that the evidence was forged.
Kim Myung Ha (Lee Shin Young) witnesses his father's execution after his men betrayed him to side with Lee In who orders every criminal to be severely punished.

Kang Hee Soo (Shin Se Kyung) wishes Lee In to spare her friend, a comfort woman, stating that it's her wish for the promise they made before.

Sadly, Lee In acts coldly towards her, saying that he's no longer a normal man to fulfill her wish. This leads to the captivity of every comfort woman and their deaths.
Lee In Breaks Kang Hee Soo's Heart
Thankfully, Kang Hee Soo manages to escape from the soldiers. She promises to return and avenge the death of her friend, and finally make Lee In suffer.
Lee Shin Young
Meanwhile, Lee In orders the wife of his brother, the queen, to leave the temple and become a monk if she wants her son to stay alive, showcasing his sinister personality.
Jo Jung Suk
The queen asks to spare Kim Myung Ha's life and to their surprise, the king benevolently agrees. Lee In then transfers the former to a small town away from the palace.
Kang Hee Soo Returns To Avenge Herself
Kim Myung Ha promises to return to the royal kingdom and take his revenge on Lee In. Three years later, the people of the kingdom live happily under the king's order.
The palace announces an invitation for all strong Go players to play with the king. Kang Hee Soo finally returns after many years as Kang Mong Woo.
