K-Movies That Are Coming Soon To North American Theaters

"Robot, Sori" (Sori: Voice from the Heart) will screen for North American audiences in Los Angeles and Dallas.

On November 4, KBS America confirmed the U.S. release of the film, which will premiere on February 5.

According to a report published by Sports Korea, the movie which has grossed more than $2.1 million USD since its January 27 domestic release will be distributed in the U.S. by KBS America.

"Robot, Sori" stars Lee Sung Min (Misaeng) as Hae Gwan, a father who refuses who believe that his missing daughter is dead, despite public sentiment that she is deceased.

When he encounters Sori, an artificial intelligence who lands in Korea, he attempts to locate his daughter.

Korean audiences expressed interest in the film due to its incorporation of a robot, who is voiced by Shim Eun Kyung (Miss Granny, Tomorrow's Cantabile).

The cast includes Lee Hee Joon (Sea Fog, Marriage Blue), Lee Ha Nui (Tazza: The Hidden Card), and "Reply 1988" star, Ryu Jun Yeol, who appears as an indie rock vocalist.

KBS America, which serves as a leading network of English-subtitled broadcasts, previously distributed the Choi Min Sik period film, "The Tiger."

The social media-inspired romantic comedy, "Like for Likes" will premiere in select North American theaters on February 26. 

The tale of modern love as influenced by Facebook, marks the silver screen comeback of Yoo Ah In, following the meteoric success of his 2015 Ryoo Seung Wan blockbuster, "Veteran" and the critically-acclaimed period film, "The Throne."

"Like for Likes" pairs Yoo with Lee Mi Yeon (Reply 1988), as a younger man who falls in love with an older woman, making the film a "noona romance." 

Yoo is No Jin Woo, a top actor who encounters Jo Gyung Ah (Lee Mi Yeon), an experienced television writer.

Choi Ji Woo portrays Han Joo Ran, a flight attendant who develops a relationship with Jung Sung Chan (Kim Joo Hyuk), her tenant. 

Kang Ha Neul (Misaeng, The Heirs) is Lee Soo Ho, a rising composer, who falls in love with Jang Na Yeon (Esom), a rookie television producer who considers herself to be an expert on dating. 

"Like for Likes" premieres in Korea on February 18 before hitting North American theaters on February 26.
