Apple Music for Android is soon to be released and the beta version of Apple Music for Android has been published. The latest leaks from German website Mobile Geeks provides the first look at Apple's second foray into app development on Google's competing mobile platform. Earlier, Apple had provided a tool to move data from Android phones to iPhones which was its first step into working on cross platforms. However, the move does not come as totally unprecedented move. Apple has been known to make its services available on its competitors' devices. It has long been distributing iTunes for Windows PCs, said Variety.

The android version will be available for its Apple Music subscription service and Apple is already conducting its private beta testing with select Android users. Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed a few days ago that Apple Music now has 6.5 million paying subscribers. An additional 8.5 million users are currently enrolled in Apple Music's three month-long free trial, he said at a Wall Street Journal event.

The latest screenshots of Apple Music for Android include some of the most user expected features, such as Beats 1, "For Me" recommendations page and Apple Music Connect social network for musicians, said 9to5Mac.

The new Apple Music for Android also includes radio streaming, support for browsing and playing the full Apple Music catalog. Apple has taken a step further and introduced a feature that is not available on iOS viz., feature to change the size of the cache to store offline music. The entire Apple Music for Android has taken slightly different approach from the Google's own iOS app.

While Google's apps attempt to mimic the company's Material Design principles, Apple relies on UI elements built into Android rather than attempting to recreate the iOS versions of them, said Engadget.
