Song Ji Hyo could take on another Chinese film role. According to a report initially published by the news outlet, Mtime, the popular "Running Man" star has been cast in the upcoming movie 超级快递  which translates to, "Rush Delivery" or "Super Express."

TV Report explored the casting announcement and the plot of the movie. The comedic action flick is a Korean, Chinese and French co-production.

According to reports, Song will portray the female lead in the film, which is centered on a bike courier who becomes embroiled in a heist. The courier is entrapped in an international crime ring, after encountering a mysterious woman.

The "Running Man" star is joined by Chinese actors Chan He and Mason Lee. Mainland actress Lee Yuan and French star action star, David Belle round out the cast.

The role would mark the second Chinese-language film appearance for Song, following her 2015 flick, "708090."

"Rush Delivery" recently began filming in China. Song recently appeared in Beijing with her "Running Man" co-stars. During their time in the region, the cast members provided Chinese-language interviews. When asked about her next film or drama role, Song did not provide details but instead stated that she was in the process of reading scripts.

TV Report contacted representatives for the SBS program, who confirmed that she was still in China, but did not discuss the casting announcement.

The model-turned-actress delivered cameo appearance in the 2002 drama, "Age of Innocence," before making her film debut in "Whispering Corridors: Wishing Stairs." Her recent drama roles include her portrayal of Oh Jin Hee, a divorced medical intern, in tvN's "Emergency Couple"  and Kim Soo Jin in the romantic comedy, "Ex-Girlfriend Club."

In July 2015, she announced that she had parted ways with C-JeS Entertainment, which had represented her for four years. She has yet to her confirm that she has signed with another agency.
