The 'Thinnest And Lightest' Pebble Time Round Smartwatch Will Release On Nov. 8
Recent reports said that the new Pebble Time Round smartwatch release date is on Nov. 8. The circular smartwatch announced in September has been available for preorder. It will commence shipping and will hit retail stores this Sunday.
The wearable can be found at Best Buy and Target stores this Sunday and online at Pebble.com and Amazon for $250, reported Phandroid.
According to Pebble, the 7.55mm-thin and 28-gram Time Round is the thinnest and lightest smartwatch today. It comes with two different sizes, 14 and 22mm, and should fit on anyone's wrist. The wearable's battery promises multi-day power.
The Pebble Time Round followed two new smartwatches released by its manufacturer. Pebble unveiled earlier this year two new smartwatches, The Time and Time Steel, which featured color e-ink displays, support for voice replies, a new accessory port to up the watch's functionality over time via third-party "smart straps" and an updated "Timeline" interface.
The color e-paper in the Pebble Time Round is easy to read even under a bright light and like its predecessors, it has a potential for third-party "smart straps." On its review of the Pebble Time Round, Engadget recommends the watch for people who are more concerned of style than substance.
The Time Round is basically a circular version of Time, and it is lighter, thinner with straps that can fit even small wrists. It looks more fashionable as well, and in fact the best-looking device the company ever had.
However, it has shorter battery life compared to the wearables that came before it, and is not nearly water-resistant. Pebble Time Round smartwatch is also quite expensive.
The tech website said it looks and feels like a regular watch, looking indistinguishable from others wristwatches. Its 38.55-mm diameter watch face blends well with the relatively slim straps; its 7.55-thick design, smooth bevelled edges and all-metal chassis make it look like a premium device. The default strap is leather but there is a metal bracelet option for $50 more.
