Five Fun Facts About Shin Min Ah

Shin Min Ah plays the chubby lawyer in search of a new image in "Oh My Venus." In that drama she turns to a trainer, played by So Ji Sub, to help her slim down. The real Shin Min Ah is not only multi-talented talented but seems effortlessly slim and glamorous.

Here are a few things you may want to know about this lovely actress.

1. She has been called the CF Queen of Korea, as she is one of Korea's most in-demand commercial models. She modeled Giordano clothing with her current co-star So Ji Sub and advertised LG phones with Hyun Bin.  Her fashion magazine appearances are so numerous that The New York Times called her the "Asian Kate Moss." Shin won the Hot Fashionista award at the 2009 Mnet 20's Choice Award.

2. The New York Times article also called her "a triple threat." Not only has she appeared in movies and dramas, but she sings too. She contributed vocals to songs and drama soundtracks, including the "Arang and the Magistrate" OST. She even published a book about her travels titled 'Shin Min Ah's French Diary" in 2009.

3. Despite all this the 31-year-old actress now says she was lazy in her 20s.

"I think I was very lazy," she said in a 2012  interview with High Cut magazine. "I had a lot of worries and was somewhat conceited as well."

At the time she said that she hoped to mature in her 30s.

4. She has played a ghost and a gumiho. But as fantastic as these characters were she dedicated herself to expressing them well. She was a restless ghost in "Arang and the Magistrate" with co-star Lee Jun Ki. She was a gumiho or nine-tailed fox in search of love in "My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho" with Lee Seung Gi. While a nine-tailed fox might seem like a fun character to play, it was an emotional experience.

"I had to cry so much in the finale," she said in an interview with the Korean media outlet OSEN. "I really had no time to sleep or read my lines. The Hong sisters (writers), the director and the actors all wanted to deliver our best, so we filmed many takes. Because there were so many emotional scenes, we were so exhausted, but we were so absorbed in expressing our emotions that we forgot to sleep."

5. She has been the subject of some impressive dating rumors. In 2008 she was rumored to be dating Big Bang's T.O.P. and later Lee Seung Gi and Lee Jun Ki, but the rumors were not confirmed. She has admitted to dating model-turned-actor Kim Woo Bin, who will soon star in "Uncontrollably Fond" with Suzy Bae. Shin met the 26-year-old actor while shooting an ad campaign for Giordano.
