IU's Affection for Her Mom 'She Hates Losing to Me'

Singer IU revealed her affection for her mom.

During an interview on a TV show, IU sent a message to her mom. IU stated, "(Mom) went to China for work. Even when you're only gone for a week, there is no warmth at home without you."

She continued, "I can take care of myself now so I want you to live a beautiful life as a woman, not as just a mother. You must be lonely because little brother went to study abroad but I'll take on the role of a son as well."

IU added, "I want mom to become more beautiful and live a full life as a woman without worrying about anything. I want to sing more songs that my mom would like from now on."

When DJ Park Kyung Rim asked, "Does your mom still work even when IU makes a lot of money?" IU answered, "My mom does business in accessories. Mom doesn't like losing to me so she keeps working. She said she wants to make a lot of money and make herself presentable to people before she is recognized as IU's mother. She still doesn't really tell people that her daughter is IU."
