Christmas Day Outdoors; Restaurants That Will Be Open To Serve Those Who Want To Dine Out

Going out to dine, drink or simply enjoy Christmas Day with family in restaurants does not forfeit the spirit, and it does not mean one is giving up the home family atmosphere. Anyone can just go out and enjoy the holidays outside. For those who love to do that, it is lucky that some of the establishments are set to be open on Christmas Day itself.

If one has many reasons to escape family this Christmas, say, avoiding a mother-in-law, some restaurants will welcome anyone with open arms.

Restaurants and other establishments which will be open on Christmas Day, requiring their employees to be away from home to work, are not regarded positively and even considered at times as Scrooge. For some however, it is about service to the community, providing a place where people can eat.

Dave Vite, co-owner of The Skillet stated, "If they are coming here, they are looking for that family environment. You can feel it throughout."

Vite added that every Christmas Day, many of the same customers come, year after year, and "it is just like any other family getting together at someone's home." Those who will be alone on Christmas Day for not being able to travel to be with their families, Eleni's, The Skillet and other restaurants will be there for them.

Eating out can make the family focus on their time together, instead of cooking and cleaning up. That is why also want to carry out orders. Christmas Day can either be at a home or restaurants, and it is the coming together for dinner that matters most.

"We feel it's a service to the community," Vite said. "We have put ourselves inside that niche, and that niche has served us well."
