Lee Sung Min Is Filming 'Memory'

Memory loss is not a new subject for k-dramas, whether the cause be an accident or a traumatic incident, but this year Alzheimer's disease is the cause in more than one drama. In the current drama "Remember" Yoo Seung Ho plays a young lawyer in the early stages of Alzheimer's and in the upcoming drama "Memory," Lee Sung Min will also play an attorney about to lose his memory to this devastating disease.

Lee Sung Min's upcoming 16-episode melodrama is the story of a lawyer who wants to win one final case before he begins to lose the memories that allow him to function.

Since he's about to face the end of his functioning life as an attorney, he's prepared to sacrifice everything for this one final win. His is sure to be a bittersweet victory. But then Lee Sung Min has never been afraid to take on a difficult role.

Lee Sung Min recently won praise for his role as the hardworking department manager in the surprise cable hit "Misaeng." After "Misaeng" he  had a cameo performance in "Hogu's Love" and also appeared in the historical drama "Splendid Politics." He's also been in a string of films during the last two years, including 'Venus Talk," "Kundo: Age of Rampant," "My Brilliant Life," "The Piper" and this week's box office hit "A Violent Prosecutor." In "A Violent Prosecutor," he plays an assistant prosecutor.

In the tvN drama "Memory" he stands on the other side of the courtroom, playing attorney Park Tae Suk.

"Memory" also stars Kim Ji Su, last seen in the drama "One Warm Word" and the film "Gangnam Blues." Kim plays Seo Young Joo, Park Tae Suk's ex-wife, who now serves as a judge.

Park Tae Suk's diagnosis and worsening symptoms will also lead him to consider the relationships in his life and try to mend fences. His relationships are complicated. He has an ex-wife and a current wife.

Park Jin Hee, who appeared in "Hur Jun" and "The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry" makes her small screen comeback in this drama, playing Park Tae Suk's current wife, Na Eun Son. Park Jin Hee has not appeared in a drama or film since 2013, having taken time off from her career to spend with her children.

2PM's Lee Junho will play the part of Park's talented but often misunderstood junior lawyer Jung Jin. Actress Yoon So Hee has been cast as another young attorney in Park Tae Suk's legal firm.

"Memory" will see another collaboration between the successful writer-director team of writer Kim Ji Woo and producer-director Park Chan Hong. The team previously worked on the dramas "Resurrection," "The Devil" and "Shark." The weekend drama is set to follow "Signal" in March.
