Kim Ji Suk in “My Unfamiliar Family” is That Guy Friend You Wish You Have in Life

"My Unfamiliar Family" is about a family who got so busy with their personal lives, keeping themselves distant. Thus, they became strangers to one another, and then these strangers start to become family. The upcoming drama will make us realize that it is okay to meet strangers who we can share our secrets, emotions, and our dreams with, and release the sentiments in our hearts.

Kim Ji-suk will play as Park Chan Hyuk, a friend of Kim Eun Hee (Han Ye Ri). The actor was a former rapper in the boy band LEO, though he first appeared in 2004 in a music video and did some minor roles. He became famous after his appearance in the film "Take Off" in 2009. Since then, he has appeared in multiple movies and television series, such as "Slave Hunters," "I Need Romance 2," "Cheongdam-dong Alice, "Angel Eyes," "Unkind Women," "Cheer Up!," "Oh Hae Young Again," and "20th Century Boy and Girl."

Park Chan Hyuk and Kim Eun Hee have been friends since college, and more likely, a brother Eun Hae never had. Chan Hyuk is a very outgoing, a free spirit and an outspoken type of person, but he is a very good listener, and he will be guiding Eun Hae to be able to find love and put sparks in her life.

Park Chan Hyuk loves photography, but he gave up his dreams to become one and started his own media company. He has a strong perception of reality, and he a very strong sense of observing other people. He easily detects what other people think and feel. He even knows when one tries to hide it.

On May 4, "My Unfamiliar Family" posted its first stills of Kim Ji Suk as Park Chan Hyuk. He seemed serious and while listening attentively to En Hee, venting out her problem while having a bottle of soju. In another photo, the two look adorable while arguing. 

Playing the character of Chan Hyuk made him curious. While reading the synopsis of the drama, he came to wonder if Chan Hyuk will also have another hidden side to the character, that he might have a story of his own that he cannot tell. Also, he finds it so interesting why he would be the only one to know the Eun Hee's family well-kept secret, he added. 

The most crucial feature of Chan Hyuk is being a really good listener. So, while he and his other co-stars were doing their lines, he was meticulous to say his lines, and his top priority was to become a good listener, he quoted.

"My Unfamiliar Family" is set to premiere on June 1 at 9 p.m. KST and English subtitles will be available on Viki.
