"The World of The Married" Teen Actor Posts Photos of Alleged Drinking and Smoking + Agency Apologizes (Photo : twitter)

The previous photos of teen actor Jung Joon Won sparked a huge controversy. Jung Joonwon is a cast of the current hit drama "The World of The Married." He portrays as a supporting actor for the role of Cha Hae Kang, who is the best-friend-turned-enemy of Lee Joon Young (played by actor Jeon Jin Seo), the son of the on-screen ex-couple Ji Sun Woo and Lee Tae Oh. Jung Joon Won is currently a hot topic for his alleged Facebook posts.

In his May 10th pictures, the teen actor is with his group of friends in a restaurant flashing expressions and posing for the camera with a lot of bottles of beer and soju surrounding them. The snaps quickly circulated in an online community. He also shared a photo of his friends holding a stick of cigarette, hinting that they are smoking, although he personally isn't captured in this picture.

Jung Joon Won was born in 2004, and he is currently 15 years old, and 17 in Korean age. This means he is underage and is prohibited to drink liquor (the legal age is 19). He also posted a picture of an electronic cigarette in his Facebook story and was trying to sell the device online with the caption, "Who wants to buy?"

Korean netizens were shocked to see such posts spreading online like wildfire of the underage actor's alleged drinking and smoking.

Here are some of the comments of the netizens:

  • "Um, wouldn't this action be illegal?"
  • "Wait, didn't he just debut at a really young age, though? Does he not want to keep his acting career?"
  • "These actions would be so upsetting coming from an adult actor. So for it to come from a teen. Just Wow."
  • "How old is a 04-liner? Isn't he still a baby? What does he think he is doing!"
  • "I'm so confused right now. He's been in the industry since like 2011, as far as I know. Did he think sharing online stuff like this wouldn't matter? Or that he would just get away with it?"

Soon after, Jung Joon Won's agency DAIN Entertainment released an official statement of apology.

"Hello, this is DAIN Entertainment.

We wrote this to respond to Jung Joonwon's social media posts that were revealed today.

Above all, our job is to manage our actors so we sincerely apologize for any inadequacy on our part in managing our artists. Currently, we are conducting a thorough internal investigation into the situation and will ensure that it does not happen again.

We apologize for causing a sudden public criticism at a time when society is disordered due to COVID-19. We are also deeply sorry to the production staff of the drama 'The World of The Married.'

We will be more careful in managing our artists in the future and do our best to prevent a recurrence and move toward improvement instead.

Thank you."
