2020 started with a bang for Korean dramas, with "Crash Landing on You" conquering the screens nationwide and outside the borders. As we set foot in the middle of the year, not one but two hot male leads arrived with their most awaited small screen comeback!

While there's a considerable content on the plate of K-drama lineup as of the moment, Hallyu stars Kim Soo Hyun and Ji Chang Wook make it more interesting as they bring their charisma in their respective returns onscreen. Expectations rise for these two heartthrobs after Lee Min Ho's post-military drama became a huge success.

Kim Soo Hyun and Ji Chang Wook are now on the spot to showcase their prowess. Viewers are expecting more mature performances and impact as actors this 2020.

Ji Chang Wook was discharged from the military in April 2019. In the same year, he starred in the drama "Melting Me Softly" and appeared in the variety show "Running Man."

This year, he plays as a friendly convenience store owner in "Backstreet Rookie," a romantic comedy-drama with the beautiful lead actress Kim Yoo Jung. The premiere commenced with a good start, according to Nielsen Korea, reaching 2.7 percent on its June 20 broadcast, and 6.8 percent of the audience for its two parts.

On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun fulfilled his mandatory service in 2017 and was discharged on July 1, 2019. He didn't do any major projects for 2019, except his cameo appearances on "Hotel Del Luna" and "Crash Landing On You."

His comeback drama this year, "It's Okay Not To Be Okay," is off to a promising start, topping its timeslot during the pilot episode. The series reached an average nationwide rating of 6.1 percent, peaking at 7.0 percent. Kim Soo Hyun's new drama, with his leading lady Seo Ye Ji, topped the ratings among all cable channels on its first broadcast. 

The suave actor plays the role of a health caregiver at a community psychiatric center. He takes care of his elder brother with developmental delays. His world revolves around his brother's happiness and welfare. 

Seo Ye Ji plays the role of a children's book author, who suffers from an antisocial personality disorder.

Many complimented the cinematography, visual effects, and animated stories presented in the drama. Seo Ye Ji is like a magnet with her great voice and her ability to draw people from her portrayed persona. In the first episode, Kim Soo Hyun gives his fans a glimpse of his defined abs as he changed to his work uniform.

Both Kim Soo Hyun and Ji Chang Wook are bringing two different flavored to weekend viewership. The two shows kicked off and are now feeding their fans some new content.
