"My Unfamiliar Family" Recap: Eun Joo"s Marriage Goes Downhill and Her Past Unfolds

Eun Hee insisted on bringing Chan Hyuk together on her trip to Sorokdo. She is convinced that Tae Hyung is staying there without Eun Joo's knowledge.

It was one of the times where Eun Hee saw her elder sister Eun Joo break down and cry. They both found her husband's deepest secret and the reasons for a big change in her life. Since they got married, Eun Joo tried to get pregnant but it never happened. She married Tae Hyung after months of dating him. She met him through his mother, who set up their first date.

Tae Hyung is a closeted gay, and he maintains not to come out, given that he's a doctor and is concerned about his parent's reputation. Eun Hee found all the conversations Tae Hyung had with his gay friends through his laptop. He intentionally left it in his office before he left for his seminar abroad. Eun Joo saw her sister shocked after seeing what's on it and went to check herself.

She was devastated and thought of killing herself but Eun Hee stopped her and comforted her. Chan Hyuk found their story when he accompanied Eun Hee to the island. 

A few days after his seminar abroad, Tae Hyung didn't return, which she found out that he always stays in Sorokdo away from his mother. The barista guy that serves coffee and enjoys talking to Eun Joo at the ground floor is after Tae Hyung. He wanted revenge after Tae Hyung took his gay boyfriend from him. He wanted to expose Tae Hyung but he pitied Eun Joo as they got to know each other.

Eun Hee asked the barista's manager and they told him where he went. On her way to the island, Eun Hee asked Chan Hyuk to accompany her. When they saw him, she confronted him and talked about why he chose to betray her sister.

A few hours later, Eun Joo arrived and chose to talk with Tae Hyung alone. They fought off and expressed each other's anger for what he did, while Chan Hyuk waited outside for Eun Joo and Eun Hee went home with the barista guy.

Nobody in Kim's family knew except Eun Hee. They wanted to keep it while the couple still plans what to do. Tae Hyung's family knew about his sexuality but they hid it from Eun Joo. 

Meanwhile, Eun Hee's father, Sang Shik, insisted that he had recovered his lost memory, although there are things that he seems unsure about their family's past stories. 

With all the things that had happened, Mr. Im declared his love for Eun Hee. Though he is her boss and has a persistent ex-girlfriend, he made it a point to show her how he felt.

Eun Joo's birthday is coming. While counting the days, Eun Hee realized that her older sister's birth date does not match their mother's story. Ji Woo, the youngest son of the family, knew that Eun Joo is their step-sister. He shared his secret to Chan Hyuk as they spent all night drinking at his place. He felt that his burden is now lessened after he told him about it. Chan Hyuk advised him to keep it on his own and not to let anyone know.
