Weki Meki's Kim Doyeon Transforms Perfectly Into Han Seon Nyeo in Web Drama "Pop-Out Boy"

Weki Meki's Kim Doyeon has completely transformed herself into her character Han Seon Nyeo.

In the new web drama "Pop-Out Boy" (also known as "Boy and Girl Straight Out of a Cartoon"), which was released on YouTube on July 25, Kim Doyeon plays the role of Han Seon Nyeo, a high school student whose face and name are the same as the heroine in the cartoon, but whose personality is the opposite. The idol-actress exuded fresh charms with her perfect character digestion.

Han Seon Nyeo can't stand being cheesy and dislikes the passive character fairy in the popular purebred cartoon "The Fairy and Namwook," written by her mother ten years ago, as well as the phrases "good-natured," meaning "pure" and fragile. Such a fairy caught the eye with the confidence of redefining "good-natured" by running with all her might at the teacher's words, "Don't overdo it and run like a fairy," during physical education class.

After school, Chun Nam Wook (Kim Min Kyu) suddenly appears in a comic book to a fairy celebrating her birthday alone. Eventually, the fairy begins to live with Nam Wook as he has nowhere to go. 

Curiosity is growing about the kind of romance she will have with Nam Wook, who has shown tit-for-tat chemistry from the beginning without being able to tolerate his cheesy words and actions.

Kim Doyeon not only visually showed a high accuracy rate with the character, but she also drew attention by portraying a smart and strong Han Seon Nyeo. In particular, Kim Doyeon's realistic, lively expressions, and friendly acting earned positive reviews by raising viewers' concentration.

"I wanted to do well because it was my first acting challenge," she said at a previous production presentation.

"I read the script countless times. I talked about the character with the director, read with the actors, and took the character," Kim Doyeon went on, showing her traces of worries and efforts. Yet, her stable acting has fascinated the audience.

Meanwhile, the romance fantasy web drama "Pop-Out Boy" airs every Thursday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. KST on Playlist Global channel on YouTube, and its first episode of pre-release is available on Naver Series On. It will also air on MBC's DramaNet will premiere on July 17 (Friday) at 10:00 p.m. KST.
