CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk Talks About Starring In an Upcoming Drama and the Struggles that Come with His Career

CNBLUE's Kang Min Hyuk shared some of his thoughts on his career in a recent interview and photoshoot for Singles magazine!

Taking a brief pause as CNBLUE's drummer, Kang Min Hyuk is about to star in the upcoming drama entitled "Not Yet 30", a drama adaptation of a webtoon with the title "Born In 1985," and will tell a love story about women in their 30s.

However, it will center on the webtoon author Seo Ji Won and her publisher Lee Seung Yoo, who is her first love back in middle school. Kang Min Hyuk will be starring as the male lead, Lee Seung Yoo, alongside Jung In Sun, EXID's Hani, and Song Jae Rim.

In the interview, Kang Min Hyuk was asked how he was drawn to the upcoming drama. He answers by saying that when he started reading the script, he was able to picture out the scenes he was reading. The actor also added that the struggles that came with the story touched his heart. Kang Min Hyuk, being 30 himself, found the problems and struggles experienced by the characters relatable. He decided to star in the drama because it made him think that this was the drama that he had to do.

The actor also mentioned his writing hobby saying that he has recently written a lot of poetry. Growing up, Kang Min Hyuk enjoyed reading a number of books and the points, opinions and contradictions he ran into stayed with him up until now. Reading was a foundation for him when it came to writing poetry as a way to put his own philosophies into words.

When asked about what he prefers doing, acting or singing, Kang Min Kyuk mentions separate things for both. According to the actor, when he sings, the instant reaction he gets is quite an amazing feeling. When acting, it's the emotional thrill that comes with it when one loses himself in a role. Acting and singing both give him joy. However, a number of his struggles come from these as well. The actor faces problems by pushing through and remembering good memories. This way his stress goes away and he feels a sense of responsibility and gets excited again when it comes to working.

According to the actor, he is satisfied with where he is now. Lastly, the actor adds, he debuted when he was 20 years old, now he is 30. He is really happy and he will continue to work hard in his career as he turns 40, 50 or even after that.

Singer-songwriter, drummer and actor Kang Min Hyuk has appeared in a number of dramas such as "Hospital Ship," "School 2017," "Entertainer," "The Heirs," "My Husband Got A Family," "Heartstrings," and "Its Okay, Daddy's Girl."
