Kim Hee Sun Shares Her Unforgettable Experience While Filming The Sci-Fi Series “Alice”
Fans are very much excited about the upcoming series, "Alice." It is likely to be one of the most highly-anticipated drama series of the year, not only because of its star-studded cast, who will make this complex and suspense sci-fi action thriller a top-notched drama series, but the plot may be new to many as it will be something different because of its time-travel setting.
The story of "Alice" is about a detective strangely born without emotions. It has a cold look maybe because it was due to an unfortunate event that happened to his mother, Park Sun Young, played by Kim Hee Sun, where she accidentally crossed a radioactive wormhole before she gave birth to his son Park Jin Gyeom played by Joo Won that he might be developing some kind of powers. However, his mother was killed and vowed upon her grave that he would become a police officer to avenge his mother's death.
Strangely, "Alice" is not a person but a super special device from the year 2050, where assassins use them to move through time, causing strange phenomena in the current year.
For this drama series, Kim Hee Sun will play both the mother of Park Jin Gyeom and genius physicist Yoon Tae Yi who is very unconventional. The two crossed paths after Jin Gyeom discovered the time-travel device. Since the setting of the drama is kind of something new, actress Kim Hee Sun spoke about what who expect from the series. She also shared her memorable experience while filming.
Kim said that the action scenes are the most memorable, she thought that she had probably held a knife while doing a role, but holding the gun was her first time. She added that she practiced action scenes with the martial arts team and it was a new experience to her.
Bending backward to avoid an attack was by far the most challenging scene the actress had do, periods which she did not expect but would very much do scenes like that again if given another chance to do another action project. "Everything was exciting about it starting from the synopsis," she added. This is Kim's first time to do an action project, she read the script very well and analyze it and has been watching related movies.
"I think the drama will be entertaining for viewers as they get sucked in and try to figure everything out, asking 'What's this? So who is that person really?'" She happily talked about it, promising that there will be lots to see and enjoy as she thinks the series is unique for having a movie-like caliber.
Several time periods will be highlighted as well from 1950 to 2050. The audience will have a glimpse of the future as to how the director hopes it to be and maybe the same how we dream it to be. And how different the period from the past and the future will look.
Two opposite roles will be played by Kim, which the audience will surely love. The actress said that it would be fun to see Tae Yi and Sun Young's differences from the clothing style, personalities, facial expressions, and many more as she goes back and forth between the two characters.
