Yoo Ah In's film "No Sound" was released today in South Korea and created quite a stir in the industry. In an interview with Star Today, Yoo Ah In showed his affection for the new movie and showed a special closeness to the character Tae-in in the play.

There is not a single line of dialogue for his character, a 15kg weight increase, and a visual transformation to shaved hair and an unexpressed. Still, heavy heart to fight like a warrior that is characteristic of the role he is playing.

The actor said, "When we received the script, the character's line was empty... It was just... There were parts where emotions and actions were displayed, but it was empty in a sense."

He went on, "A movie is a scene made with sound and light. Is it literature and art? It is a play of sound and light, but the director's will to unfold his story by putting it to the forefront that there is no sound, working inside and outside the movie, it felt like a provocative declaration."

He added, "There are so many stories hidden in the non-speakable setting. I thought of myself as a friend who felt the meaninglessness of expression very deeply—a person with a profound wound. There is no difference between speaking and not speaking. I think I embodied it while imagining a human being who refused or stopped expressing."

Yoo Ah In further shared, "Is there any part of the self that resembles the real one? The simplicity of the indifference...twisted inferiority? In some circumstances, it seems like what I want to break through is similar...On the one hand, I was envious. I also feel the meaninglessness of expression, but I am in a position to express countless numbers of expressions."

Yoo Ah In described the 'suit' that Tae-in is interested in as "a prop that shows a relatively explicit symbolism."

He said, "I am doing strange things, but I think it reflects the inferiority and desire that men of that age can have. In its use, the symbol becomes three-dimensional. When something like heroic psychology emerges, I wear that suit, but it wasn't like 'It's my shabby life, but I try it for someone once.' As a member of society, an attempt was made to transform the sense of inferiority and damage consciousness that a man can have."

He also said, "It's not easy to come up with an offer that startles me and feels like I want it desperately to the point where I may even ask, 'Will you give it to me' and 'I may throw everything for this.' But I thought, 'There must be something about this.' Even if I over-interpreted it, I wanted to find fun at work and give it meaning. It wasn't wrong."

In conclusion, he wrapped up by saying, "I lost my ability to memorize the lines because of the silent character. It can be experimental and anxious, but I wanted to put it on once. It brought new hope to me. It makes me wait for another start."
