Drama Adaptation of The Webtoon "Amazing Rumor" Releases Its First Teaser
Webtoon's 'Amazing Rumor' drama adaptation starring Gugudan's SeJeong, Jo Byung Gyu, Yeom Hye Ran, and Yoo Jung Sang, drops their first teaser on Oct. 18.
OCN's upcoming drama adaptation of Amazing Rumor, a popular webtoon in 2018 written by JangYi, is another addition to the 'must-watch' list of Korean drama fanatics. On Oct. 18, OCN released the first teaser of the drama.
The teaser started with the animated introduction of the main characters then revealed the real life cast featuring Gugudan's SeJeong, Jo Byung Gyu, Yeon Hye Ram, and Yoo JungSang. Amazing Rumor is a story of a group of people who are called "Counters", who have their own special abilities that they use to hunt down evil spirits. To fulfill their mission and hide their identity, Counters disguised as an employee of a noodle restaurant.
SeJeong will play the role of Do Hana, who has the special ability to hear that can locate and guess evil spirits' location. Her character can also read someone's memories when she touched them.
Byung Gyu will play the role of So Moon, the youngest member of the Counters. His character's special ability is his enhanced physical strength. So Moon, his character, has a limp in his left leg that came from a car accident he was involved in when he was a child, and also the reason for his parent's death. As the youngest in the group, So Moon is known as the central figure of the Counters.
Hye Ran will play the role of Chu Mae Ok, the anchor of the Counters. Her character was also the chef of the noodle restaurant where the Counters were working as a disguised. With her healing abilities, Chu Mae-Ok was considered as the 'emotional pillar' of the group.
JungSang will play the role of Ga Mo Tak, a former police officer who had an accident in the past that caused him to lose his memory. His character is the life teacher of So Moon. He can not also stand injustices.
The upcoming drama was not only anticipated because of how amazing the chemistry of the main characters is, but also about the appearance of the big actors in Korea. The lineup of the cast members gets more exciting when Choi Yoon Young was added. Choi Yoon Young previously appeared in tvN's political-themed drama in 2019, Designated Survivor. Yoon Young will play the role of a detective at a local police station, which she admitted as a role she has never played before. She also asked for support and love from her fans.
OCN also confirmed to cast Lee Chan Hyeong, a rookie actor who debuted in his acting career as one of the main leads in the web series Re-Feel. Chan Hyeong also appeared as a guest role in tvN's medical friendship drama in 2020, Hospital Playlist.
Amazing Rumor will be released in November and will take over the timeslot of OCN's action drama Search, starring former member of f(x) Krystal Jung and Jang Dong Yoon. The webtoon Amazing Rumor's season two is currently on-going.
