'The Spies Who Loved Me' Kicks Off Premiere Episode With Promising Ratings
"The Spies Who Loved Me" starring Shinhwa's Eric, Yoo In Na, and Im Joo Hwan, premiered on October 21 with a good start as the first episode resulted in promising ratings. Nielsen Korea had recorded the premiere with the average nationwide ratings of 3.7% and 4.3%.
MBC's newest drama The Spies Who Loved Me is a romantic comedy series about a woman who accidentally gets herself involved with her two husbands who both hold secrets within themselves. Yoo In Na will be playing as a wedding dress designer named Kang Ah Reum in the series. Her character will be married twice to two men that are hideous about their identities.
Shinhwa's Eric Moon will be playing as Jeon Ji Hoon, an undercover agent working under the Interpol. Eric disguises himself as a travel photographer to hide his real identity and to also fulfill his missions as an agent. Eric's character was the first husband of Yoo In Na's character.
Im Joo Hwan, on the other hand, is Derek Hyun, Yoo In Na's character's second husband. What Yoo's role does not know is that just like Jeon Ji Hoon, Derek Hyun is also hiding his identity from her. Im's character will be playing as a spy working as undercover in a corporate agency.
The complexity of the character's profiles made the premiere of The Spies Who Loved Me resulted in bright and soaring ratings. On October 21, the same day of the premiere, the cast attended a press conference for the drama where the actors revealed their memorable scenes.
Eric brought up his experience in doing a scene where he needed to pole dance. He shared that the scene's vital aspect was him to dance in a pole while wearing a sheriff's outfit. He also stated that he just let himself go and let the pole take him over as he dances along thinking that he is a cowboy. Along with that, Eric raised his gratitude for working with Yoo In Na and thankful to witness the humor of the co-star that he anticipated from Yoo's previous works.
Yoo In Na also shared her impressions of her co-stars. At the press conference, Yoo confessed that when he heard that she will be acting with Shinhwa's Eric Moon, she immediately said that finally the actor and she will be working together on one project. Yoo also admitted that Eric is the most good-looking person she has ever seen. "I like looking at his face because it fascinates me a lot. And it seems like he does not realize being stared at all." Yoo added.
The Spies Who Loved Me's director Lee Jae Jin clears that the drama is not just a common story about spies, but is also about the romance and humor of the three main characters. He also shared in the press conference that he is glad to work with the actors because of the exceptional performance of the three on and off cam.
