“Fun-Staurant” Encounters Glitch in The Start of Its Episode
On October 23 the KBS 2TV famous cooking variety show "Fun-staurant" experienced some technical problems in the start of its episode and viewers were shocked to see just a blank white screen for six minutes instead of its usual commercials that airs before the program starts.
The following day KBS has released a formal apology for minor glitch that occurred with the latest broadcast of "Fun-staurant." The network released a statement stating the following:
"Upon the broadcasting of our show "Fun-Staurant" on the evening of October 23, a broadcasting accident occurred that blocked us from airing some advertisements properly for six minutes. After a thorough investigation, we discovered that there were errors that happened in the editing of our commercials, and we immediately took emergency measures to fix the problem. After fixing the problem, we were able to properly air the advertisements as well as the program. We sincerely ask for an apology for the inconvenience that the viewers experienced through this unexpected accident."
Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant also known as "Fun-Staurant" is a South Korean television program that broadcasts airs every Friday at 21:40 (KST) through the KBS2 channel. The show is also available to watch on KBS World's YouTube channel from November 5, 2019. "Fun-Staurant" became popular because of the the discovery of the famous Dalgona coffee by former cast member Jung Il Woo.
Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant is a program that features a cooking battle between celebrities. There will be a theme, and it is usually a type of food. Celebrities will have to create and reveal their own creative recipes and they should cook it personally. The dished they cook are then judged by the 'judge squad' and the winning dish will be served in CU (Korean convenience store chain that is operated and owned by BGF Retail) outlets around South Korea the next day after the winning dish is announced.
It is a good thing that whatever they earn from the winning dishes will be donated to charities and as of August 28, 2020, the amount has totaled up to ₩119,276,219 this was as reported on episode 47 of the show.
From the beginning of the show until Round 13 the celebrities' creative dishes were were judged by a judge squad. The famous judge squad consisted of chefs Lee Yeon Bok and Lee Won Il, singer Lee Seung Shul and Kim Jung Hoon, the MD of CU. Their category for judging the dishes are: Taste, Texture, Originality, and Marketability.
