Lee Jong Suk and Song Hye Kyo Rumored to Work Together in a Drama
Currently, the Internet is abuzz when rumors were released that multitalented actors Song Hye Kyo and Lee Jong Suk are in talks to star together in an upcoming drama!
According to the rumor that circulated on October 25, Song Hye Kyo and Lee Jong Suk will be working together in a new drama titled Welcome Marriage (or Shining Ambition). It is said that both actors have been invited to star in the drama to be helmed by director Kim Won Suk who is the same man behind beloved K-Dramas Signal, Arthdal Chronicles, and My Mister. And the writers might be the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung-Eun and Hong Mi-ran), whose successful works include Hotel del Luna, Master's Sun, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, and The Greatest Love. The detailed content of the project, as well as the plot, has yet to be revealed.
If the rumors are true that Leen Jong Suk and Song Hye Kyo was offered to star in this project, then this will mark the actress' comeback after her two years hiatus from the small screen and divorce from ex-husband Song Joong Ki. Lee Jong Suk will mark his comeback project after he is discharged from the military.
Currently, the 31-year-old actor is fulfilling his mandatory military service and will be discharged on January 2021. His last series was the romantic comedy themed drama Romance is a Bonus Book where he starred alongside actress Lee Na Young aired in 2019.
Lee Jong Suk became widely recognized for his breakout role in School 2013 (2012) and he became even more famous for his roles in I Can Hear Your Voice (2013), Doctor Stranger (2014), Pinocchio (2014), W (2016), While You Were Sleeping (2017), The Hymn of Death (2018)
On the other hand, actress Song Hye Kyo's last project was the /romance series Encounter where she starred alongside Park Bo Gum which was released last November 2018.
The 38-year-old actress is famous worldwide for her portrayal as leading roles in television dramas namely: Autumn in My Heart (2000), All In (2003), Full House (2004), That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013), Descendants of the Sun (2016), and Encounter (2018). Her film work includes Hwang Jin Yi (2007), The Grandmaster (2013), My Brilliant Life (2014), and The Queens (2015).
However, as of the moment this information has not been verified by the Korean media nor confirmed by the two actors and their respective agencies, leaving their fans hoping with their fingers crossed. Although this is just a speculation, the internet is abuzz by this rumor and a lot of fans by both actors surely have mixed emotions upon hearing this news.
