Seo Ye Ji Will Star As a Stuck-Up Wealthy Girl Once Again in The Upcoming Drama ‘Island’
Actress Seo Ye Ji was previously the leading lady of her dreamy co-star Kim Soo-hyun on the hit drama series It's Okay to Not Be Okay.' She is also highly praised for her performance in the said drama.
Good news to all her fans worldwide, Seo Ye Ji is back with a new drama in which she will portray a new character that is said to have the same characteristics as Ko Moon Young in 'It's Okay Not To Be Okay'! Her beautiful and bold portrayal of Ko Moon Young left fans wanting more from the actress.
Now, dear fans, the wait is over! Seo Ye Ji has just accepted a project to star in the upcoming drama titled 'Island'. Her role in this new drama is another stuck up wealthy girl whom you you'll definitely love. Another question is, how does her new role compare to her last? Let's find out!
The actress reprises a character that has been quite a trend in the Korean drama world which is wealthy yet arrogant beauty who is emotionally wounded in her past. In this case, her character is going to be the only heiress of the the Daehan conglomerate group. She has been "exiled" by her father to a lonesome island after being involved in a controversy and made headlines for the worst "gapjil case" (gapjil is an expression referring to an arrogant and authoritarian attitude or actions of people in South Korea who are using abuse of their powers).
The same as her character in 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay', the actress will have to persuade a mysterious man and eventually uncover his hidden secrets. Her character in 'Island' on the other hand, will have to depend on a hunter who lives on the island, he is the only person who can help her achieve her mission.
Now who exactly is this mystery hunter? Much like how Ko Moon-young and Moon Gang-tae helped each other accept their individual flaws and wounds, Seo's character will also hold the missing key to helping the hunter on his mission in life.
While 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' is a romance-thriller genre blended with a bit of mystery, the upcoming drama 'Island' will be a fantasy drama wherein the island is filled with monsters that wants to eliminate all traces of humans on the island over time. Upon Seo Ye Ji's character's arrival on the island, the monsters were all awaken.
