Kang Ha Neul to Possibly Star in Upcoming Film 'Streaming'

Good news for "When the Camellia Blooms" actor Kang Ha Neul fans! Your long wait is over! The actor is currently in talks to star in an upcoming film.

On Nov. 16, a Korean media outlet revealed that Kang Ha Neul was offered to portray the main lead in a new movie titled "Streaming."

After the reports were released, a source from TH Company, Kang Ha Neul's agency, issued their response and confirmed that Kang Ha Neul had received the offer to star in the upcoming film. As of the moment, the actor is reviewing the project offer.

Streaming is a movie that tells the story of the life of a YouTuber, which will be portrayed by actor Kang Ha Neul (if he accepts he offer). The movie will be helmed by director Jo Chang Ho who also worked on the 2019 KBS 2TV drama "Justice."

Lotte Entertainment is said to be the distribution company in charge of film investment. "Streaming" is slated to be released next March.

South Korean actor Kim Ha Neul, famously known for his stage name Kang Ha Neul, was born on February 21, 1990. The actor is widely recognized for his portrayal in television dramas, namely: "The Heirs" (2013), "Angel Eyes" (2014), "Misaeng: Incomplete Life" (2014), "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" (2016), and "When The Camellia Blooms" (2019); and the films "Mourning Grave" (2014), "Twenty" (2015), "Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet" (2016), "New Trial" (2017), and "Midnight Runners" (2017). 

The actor started his career in the entertainment industry through musical theatre, outstandingly in "Thrill Me" (2010), "Prince Puzzle" (2011), "Black Mary Poppins" (2012), and "Assassins" (2012). Later on, he decided to star on the small screen through the television dramas, such as "To The Beautiful You" (2012), "The Heirs," and "Misaeng: Incomplete Life."

Kang Ha Neul took home the Best Actor award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards and was also ranked as the ranked 23rd in Forbes Korea's 40 most powerful celebrities in Korea this year (2020).

The actor entered his mandatory military service on September 11, 2017, at Nonsan Korean Army Training Center. He was then appointed as an honorary ambassador of the Military Manpower Administration (MMA).

As their honorary ambassador, Kang Han Neul joined in events organized by the MMA until December 2019. He was discharged from the military on May 23, 2019, and since then, the actor has been very active in doing projects in the entertainment industry.

On November 6, 2019, SEM Company, Kang Ha Neul's agency since 2010, announced that the actor would be under their contract until the TV series "When The Camellia Blooms" ends. After that, the actor decided to join his manager in the newly established entertainment agency, TH Company. 

Currently, Kang Ha Neul has been booked for several projects, such as making a special appearance in the new drama "River Where The Moon Rises" and starring in the movie "The Pirates 2: The Goblin Flag" is the sequel to the 2014 film "The Pirates."
