Moon Ga Young Talks About Her Character in Upcoming Drama ‘True Beauty’
Moon Ga Young talks about her role as Lim Ju Gyeong in the upcoming tvN drama "True Beauty"! Here is what you need to find out!
"True Beauty" is a romantic comedy-drama series based on a webtoon of the same title. It will tell Lim Ju Gyeong's (Moon Ga Young) story as she uses makeup to hide her insecurities. In school, she turns into a goddess because of her makeup skills. Then she meets Lee Su Ho (ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo), a handsome and popular student who has emotional scars.
The story also features Han Seo Jun (Hwang In Yeob ), a boy who looks like a rebel but is kind and warmhearted. These characters will grow as they cross each other's path, sharing secrets and discovering love. However, the question remains, will they see each other's true beauty?
Recently, Moon Ga Young shared the reason why she chose to star in the said drama. She stated that she could feel good just by reading the script. The drama also radiates the energy that she likes. Plus, the role of Lim Ju Gyeong is unlike the previous roles she had played. Because of these, the actress took the offer of playing the lead role in the webtoon series.
She also added that Lim Ju Gyeong is an interesting character who can transition between two different personas. Her charming personality is something that allows Moon Ga Young to freely and easily play the part. Plus, her character even has some action scenes which viewers should look forward to!
When asked if she has similarities with her character, the actress answered that they both have a superior taste in music. However, she said that Lim Ju Gyeong is carefree and optimistic, which is the exact opposite of her since she worries and overthinks.
Moon Ga Young also spilled that in the drama's first episode, Lim Ju Gyeong would go through many struggles and failures before gaining outstanding makeup skills. She also expressed how everyone on the set, including the crew, enjoyed the filming process.
The actress then talked about each of her co-stars in the drama. She shared that "Cha Eun Woo gives out a tsundere charm (a person who is seemingly cold on the outside but is kind and warm on the inside)" and as for the other leading man, Hwang In Yeob, she said, "he has a sweet voice." She also expressed how she loved working with both of them.
Lastly, Moon Ga Young talked about her thoughts regarding "True Beauty." She said that the drama would be relatable, touching, and lovable. It will feature the struggles and growth that everyone undergoes during their teenage years to become adults. The actress also asks everyone for their support and eagerly watches how each character would mature in the drama.
