Cha Eun Woo Shows Off his Exceptional Jiu-Jitsu Skills in the Drama ‘True Beauty’
With only days left before the highly-anticipated drama "True Beauty" premieres, tvN released new stills of Astro's Cha Eun Woo showing his impressive skills in Jiu-Jitsu.
The romantic-comedy and webtoon-based series will finally hit the screen on Dec. 09 with its pilot episode. Even though the drama is not yet starting, the audience are already excited to see the actors on screen.
"True Beauty" is a high school romance drama about the makeup guru Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young), a girl who always goes to school with full-makeup to hide her bare face. It's also her way to fight and hide the insecurities she has about her physical appearance. She then meets a guy named Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo), a famous student in the same school who has his own emotional wounds from the past. They develop a good friendship and become each other's support. They share secrets and learn to heal from their scars by comforting each other.
Cha Eun Woo's character as Lee Su Ho is a cold-hearted guy with exceptional visuals and good at academics, and he has excellent basketball skills. But, basketball is not just the only sport he enjoyed but also Jiu-Jitsu. In the newly released stills, Lee Su Ho can be seen wearing a white uniform where he participates in a Jiu Jitsu competition. He captures viewers with his firm action and focused gaze as he takes down his opponent.
Cha Eun Woo's sharp gaze shows a fierce and charismatic persona of his character as Lee Su Ho. His vicious expression is giving a great tension about what is to look forward to in the upcoming episodes of the drama "True Beauty."
The "True Beauty" star shared in an interview that he has been training for his role as Lee Su Ho, "I am practicing really hard to show the real character of Su Ho, he is a man who likes sports. I am grateful for the experience, because I think I found a new good hobby today."
Aside from acting, Cha Eun Woo is also busy with his schedule as an idol, for he is a member of the popular KPop boy group Astro. He has also been doing Sunday variety show "Master in the House" and actors Lee Seung Gi, Yang Se Hyung, Shin Sung Rok, and Kim Dong Hyun. Despite his busy schedule, he managed to show good training and skills in preparation for his upcoming drama.
The results of his hard work and overflowing charisma can be seen in the stills and will be more exciting to watch when the drama finally airs.
