Webtoon-based Korean dramas are now in demand, making a huge impact in the Korean entertainment industry's history. As you engage yourself in watching a variety of dramas adapted from webtoons, you can't help but notice the so-called "Matjjitnam" actors. They are the artists portraying the webtoon characters in Korean dramas.

"Matjjitnam" is a newly coined abbreviation that means "men who are straight out of a comic book," they are the actors who not only depict their characters perfectly, but they also look flawlessly like them. Here are some of the Korean actors who made an amazing performance in portraying their characters that satisfied both webtoon and drama lovers.

One of the most watched Korean dramas in the first half of the year 2020 that gained popularity and recognition not just in Korea but also in different parts of the globe is "Itaewon Class."

Aside from the plot, characters in the said drama received praises, especially actor Park Seo Joon who played the role of Park Se Ro Yi, a passionate dreamer in his youth. His iconic fashion and hairstyle made a big impact on its viewers to the point that they also started imitating his style.

The webtoon lovers, in particular, appreciated the 32-year-old actor-old actor as he played the role with a chestnut haircut and pair of stony eyes, which resembled the original comic book character.

On the other hand, Cha Eun Woo has been known for having a perfect visual. He has been receiving a lot of appreciation for his talent and looks, especially now that he is one of the main leads in the ongoing drama "True Beauty." He is playing the character of Lee Su Ho, who has perfect looks, intelligence, and is good in sports.

The 24-year-old idol and actor always greet the viewers with overflowing visuals, as if the original character from the book was reincarnated. As he shows his amazing skills in the drama, Cha Eun Woo also proves that he's the right man for the role.

Meawhile, "W: Two Worlds" has become one of the most unique stories that ever existed in the K-drama world. It may not have originated from a webtoon, but Lee Jong Suk's visual can't hide that he really looks like a character from a comic book!

Lee Jong Suk played Kang Chul's role, who travels in two different worlds - his reality, and the webtoon universe as a protagonist of a popular webtoon, "W." That is where he made an impeccable performance that made his presence known.

From the simple scenes like car chasing to dimension-crossing romance with his onscreen partner Han Hyo Joo, Lee Jong Suk's performance impressed many viewers to the extent that many fans from overseas are requesting the official release of the webtoon series.

Then, we have Im Siwan, who is known for his iconic works. He has been playing roles from the dramas based on webtoons like "Strangers From Hell" and "Misaeng." These were also his comeback dramas after he left the mandatory military services.

In the drama "Misaeng," he portrayed a solid character, and his presence as an actor stood out the most instead of an idol. In "Strangers From Hell," he played the role of Yoo Jong Woo, a man who moves to the big city (Seoul) for work and enters a place where his neighbors hide their identities as murderers that leads him to experience anxiety. The idol and actor's character breaks down because of stress, and he also suffers from nightmares and hallucinations. 

Last but not least is Jo Byeong Gyu, who has recently been part of the "Manjjitnams." His drama "The Uncanny Counter" tells the story of a popular webtoon with the same name. It shows a group of people called "counters" who disguise themselves as workers in the noodle restaurant, but their ultimate goal is to capture the evil spirits who comes down to Earth.

The young actor is currently portraying one of the lead roles as So Mun. He managed to show epic performances through the drama, from action scenes to comedy. He also has strong and fantastic chemistry with the cast of the said drama.

Jo Byeong Gyu is indeed one of the living webtoon characters!
