‘Youth of May’ Unveils Table-Read Session with Stars Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, Keum Sae Rok, and Lee Sang Yi

KBS 2TV dropped the official photos during the script reading session for the upcoming series "Youth of May."

Over the network's Instagram account, lead cast like Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, Keum Sae Rok, and Lee Sang Yi was present at the first table read.

Moreover, the activity was also attended by supporting actors, the production team, and "Youth of May's" director Song Min-Yeop alongside scriptwriter Lee Kang.

Before the casts delved into their characters, Song Min-Yeop, gave his two cents about the forthcoming romance drama series.

In a short speech, he vowed to "capture the love and youth stories" that the genre is trying to convey, adding, "Above all, I wish I could finish the filming without getting hurt."

On the other hand, Lee Kang revealed how he came up with the whole script.

"I work with the feeling of sending a letter every time I write a script, and I think I received that reply today."

Furthermore, he concluded by giving his full support and infinite affection for the lead stars and supporting actors.

"Youth of May" Cast and Release

Starting the script reading, the "18 Again" actor engaged himself to Hwang Hee Tae's character, who is said to be a troublemaker and describes his life as "a war on prejudice."

Despite this, he managed to be a top student and entered the prestigious Seoul National University College of Medicine, where he met Kim Myung Hee, played by Go Min Si - a third-year nursing student who was challenged by life's unforeseen circumstances.

Aside from the duo, they were joined by powerhouse cast, including Lee Sang Yi, who portrays the role of Lee Soo Shan and Keum Sae Rok, as Lee Soo Ryun.

In addition, "Partners for Justice" actor Oh Man Seok is said to play the character of Hwang Ki Nam while Eom Hyo Seop will be Lee Chang Geun.

Over Twitter, fans expressed their excitement towards the upcoming retro-romance drama.

"I can't help but be excited over #LeeDoHyun playing a med student role on Youth of May that sounds so effin cool. It will definitely look good on him!!!" one fan tweeted.

The same goes with the second user who posted, "so exciteeed for this pairing," alongside photos of Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si.

Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si Confirmed to Star in KBS 2TV's New Drama Series

Set to debut this May 2021, the forthcoming KBS 2TV's drama depicts an almost perfect love story of two young people during the Gwangju Uprising that occurred in May 1980.

Back in October 2020, rumors sparked that the network was eyeing to pair Lee Do-Hyun and Go Min-si for an upcoming romantic melodrama series.

The two have previously worked together in the post-apocalyptic horror series starring "Sweet Home" alongside Song Kang and Lee Si Young.

At the time, his agency Yue Hua Entertainment released a statement on behalf of the actor stating that he "has been tapped to appear in Youth of May and is considering it."

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old actress' agency Mystic Story expressed the same stance and revealed that the "Set Play" star is "positively reviewing" the offer to star in an upcoming project.

Interestingly, before the start of the year, both actors confirmed their appearance.
