Gong Yoo Celebrates 20 Years in the Entertainment Industry

One of the Korean entertainment luminaries and pioneers of the Hallyu wave celebrates his 20 years in showbusiness. This being said, superstar Gong Yoo shared what it feels like to be in the spotlight for two decades.

In a recent interview, the "Coffee Prince" actor dropped some of his personal experiences while working as an actor in the industry and how he and the entertainment itself evolved through the years. 

Receiving a Bouquet of Flowers from His Crew is More Fulfilling than Getting an Award

Prominent actor Gong Yoo shared that he is celebrating his 20 years in showbiz, and 10 consecutive years of doing coffee advertisements. According to him, he is more inspired to work now that he has been in the industry for 20 years.

The 41-year-old actor is loved for his various works and characters portrayed, starting from his mega-hit movie "Train to Busan," to "The Suspect," and "A Man and A Woman," including his record-breaking and romantic-comedy dramas "Goblin," and "Coffee Prince."

Through these works, Gong Yoo received overwhelming love and support from domestic and international audiences. He started to appear in the KBS drama "School 4" in 2001, which marked his first year in the industry.

Gong Yoo shared, "I don't really count how long I have been working each year. Fans are the ones who inform me about those things. And this year, they remind me that it is my 20th anniversary as an actor."  

He added, "Few days ago, I saw an advertisement and made me realize that it has been 10 years since I started doing coffee advertisements." 

The actor continued, "I was not expecting at all but I was surprised when my working crew and advertiser gave me a bouquet of flowers to congratulate me."

Gong Yoo confessed that he felt more happier receiving those things from his crew rather than receiving the Best Actor Award. He also said that he was impressed that he has done advertisements with one brand for 10 years, and he became more fulfilled knowing that his loyalty about the brand was maintained.

Gong Yoo Maintains a Healthy Lifestyle by Exercising

"The Silenced" actor also shared that he has been doing exercises to maintain his flexibility. Gong Yoo is also taking health supplements to ensure his good health. At his age of 41, the versatile actor became more cautious on what he eats. He makes sure that he gets to live happily and healthily everyday.

Gong Yoo participated in the online press conference for his latest sci-fi film "Seobok," which will be available on theaters and on Korean streaming site Tving on April 15.

Meanwhile, his co-actor Park Bo Gum wasn't able to attend the event as he is fulfilling his military duties.
