Kwon Hyun Bin Tells All about Life During "Summer Guys" and after

Kwon Hyun Bin is looking forward to a brighter future ahead, now that his recent drama "Summer Guys" aired its finale.

In an interview on April 29, he shared about the experiences he had on the show and did not hide the fact that it was no walk in the park for him to do.

In this drama, Kwon Hyun Bin played the character, Park Gwak Bok. His role can be considered a simpleton. Gwak Bok is so simple and so pure, he was often labeled a virgin mojito.

The role is not easy to do. After all, Kwon Hyun Bin is no simpleton. According to the actor, he needed to practice in order to capture the essence of his role.

"He's pure, transparent, and a reckless friend. After I received the character offer, I focused on practicing to get into Gwang Bok's character," he revealed.

This is why now that the show is completed, he is beyond proud of it and all the cast and staff members that worked hard on it. He was honest though in saying he is "relieved" that the show is over.

The actor also revealed how he internalized the struggles of the character he is playing in order to portray the emotions more accurately.

In one of the scenes, Park Gwang Bok had to sacrifice his athlete career to work for the private loan industry. Given how he is not working in a career where his heart is, it was difficult.

Seeing a debtor jumped to his death pushed him to the edge, making him contemplate suicide as well.

The actor also joked that he "cried a lot" on this project.

Life after "Summer Guys" for Kwon Hyun Bin: Role of a Villain?

Although the COVID-19 makes it hard to jump to another project now that "Summer Guys" is over, Kwon Hyun Bin already has dreams of taking on another role, regardless of what genre.

Asked what his plans are, he revealed that he wants all kinds of roles because he did not want to be typecast into just one type of character. But given the choice, he will absolutely like to play a villain. Not just any villain though, because he wants to portray someone bad yet full of charisma.

"I want to play a charismatic villain. I think my sharp eyes and low-pitched voice can bring out a villain's characteristics," he explained.

He revealed that at present he has no plans for an album just yet. Instead, he is just focusing on improving his skills so that more projects will come his way.

The actor is beyond grateful for his fans, whom he had a message for. According to the actor, he promises to be a better actor for them and that he wishes that no matter the hardships brought about by the pandemic, they all overcome these well.
