Kim Sae Ron and Nam Da Reum are starring in a drama entitled "Excellent Shaman Ga Doo Shim." Since it is very new, there are still very relatively few details about it. Fans who want to know more, however, can read on these 3 facts about the coming show.
It's a Fantasy, Romance, and Mystery Drama in One
By the title alone, "Excellent Shaman Ga Doo Shim," it is already apparent that the drama will be featuring something out of this world. The fantasy romance throws in some mystery, too, because it would revolve around two unique high schoolers who found themselves involved in various incidents they cannot explain.
Ga Doo Shim, played by Kim Sae Ron, is an 18-year-old with an unexplainable and compelling desire to become a shaman. While other girls are experimenting with makeup, she is involved in fighting evil spirits and solving a myriad of mysterious cases happening around her.
On the other hand, Na Woo Soo, played by Nam Da Reum, is the typical rich and handsome high school kid that does everything perfectly - he gets good grades, he's popular, and he has money. However, his life is thrown in the loop when he met Ga Doo Shim, and suddenly, he can see evil spirits himself. Ultimately, the two will just pair up to solve mystery cases together.
Kim Sae Ron Has Fun Filming The Drama
Playing a high school kid with some weird capability to see and fight spirits can be challenging, but actress Kim Sae Ron revealed that she's actually having a lot of fun.
She shared, "As it is a fantasy genre [drama] that stirs up your imagination, it was so fun reading the script. Ga Doo Shim, who rejects her fate and tries to live the life she wants, was also charming. I think it is a drama you will enjoy. Please look forward to it."
Nam Da Reum seconded what his co-star said.

"I really had fun reading the script, and Na Woo Soo's contrast from my previous characters felt more charming," he explained.
He also said meeting the director inspired and assured him that he is on a good project. He then promised his fans that they would not be disappointed with his performance and that he wishes that they will love and support for 'Excellent Shaman Ga Doo Shim."
Both of these main cast members started out in the industry as child actors, so they have truly built a strong portfolio of shows that showcased how well they can act. For her part, Kim Sae Ron one time said she did not get to experience much when she was young because she was working so much.
Filming starts in May, and Each Episode is Just Short!
While this drama is just announced, the team is certainly not wasting time. Reportedly, filming will already start this May.
The show will consist of 12 episodes, wherein each is just about 20 minutes long.
If everything goes right, the show premiere sometime in the second half of this year via Kakao TV.
