There's a new historical drama brewing in KBS. Fans of such genre, with most dramas full of unexpected twists and turns, can certainly rejoice. The drama is entitled "Yeonmo." Below is everything we know so far about this promising drama.

"Yeonmo" Plot

What is "Yeonmo" about anyway? It is said to be based on the Korean comic of the same title. The title itself, "Yeonmo," can be translated into the term "love" or "affection" in the local language.

The story will revolve around royal twins, and unlike the twins we see on television, this pair will be comprised of one male and one female.

The sister, Lee Hwi, is said to be initially abandoned just because of her gender. However, when her twin died, she felt compelled to disguise herself as a man and take on her brother's crown, unbeknownst to many.

In her disguise, she had to keep a lot to herself and never get close to anyone. Good thing, though, that even though she is a female, she is killed at the literary and martial arts and gifted with an elegant beauty that can still pass off as a prince's aesthetics.

"Yeonmo" Cast

Park Eun Bin is starring in the drama as Lee Hwi, the crown prince, with a shocking secret. On the other hand, SF9's Rowoon will be taking on the male lead Jung Ji Woon. He is specifically Lee Hwi's teacher.

He is described as not just handsome but also unbelievably brave and bold. At the same time, he is persevering and tenacious, which can rub others in the wrong way, especially since he tends to care nothing about what others are saying and is too much of an optimist to be bogged down by life's issues.

He is also depicted as the son of a government official in the Saheonbu, which is an investigative government office, so he really has nothing to worry about in the future since this is already set out for him. But he refuses to just adhere to the path laid out to him.

Another cast member is VICTON's Byungchan, who is taking on the role of Kim Ga On, Lee Hwi's bodyguard can be described as too faithful and dependable.

According to the latest reports, DIA's Jung Chaeyeon will be joining the cast of "Yeonmo." This is confirmed by the producers of KBS TV's upcoming drama themselves on May 8.

Jung Chaeyeon's Role

Jung Chaeyeon will be taking on an equally important role as the rest. This is her first-ever drama within the last two years, so fans are naturally elated. The last time they have seen her in a drama was on "My Frist, First Love 2" back in 2019.

In this show, Jung Chaeyeon will be playing the role of Noh Ha Kyung, the wife of the crown prince.

"Yeonmo," which will be directed by "Beauty Inside" and "Another Oh Hae Young" director Song Hyun Wook, will start filming soon. It's looking to drop in the second half of 2021.
