GWSN’s Anne Joins Jang Hyuk as Lead Star in Upcoming Movie ‘The Child Who Deserves to Die’
GWSN's Anne is confirmed to star in the upcoming film "The Child Who Deserves to Die" alongside Jang Hyuk.
The news was confirmed by her agency, The Wave Music, saying that the girl group member, whose real name is Lee Seo Young, is set to appear in the soon-to-be-released action movie.
In addition, the management also revealed that the shooting starts this June.
"Anne has been cast in the lead role of Kim Yoon Ji in the film 'The Child Who Deserves to Die,' which begins filming this month," The Wave Music mentioned in a statement.
As for his co-star, the "My Country: The New Age" actor recently confirmed his appearance in "The Child Who Deserves to Die," which portrays the professional killer Eui Kang.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Kpop star will play the role of the high school student named Kim Yoon Ji.

"The Child Who Deserves to Die" Synopsis
Helmed by "The Swordsman" director Choi Jae Hoon, the upcoming movie is based on a novel of the same name, written by Bang Jin Ho.
"The Child Who Deserves to Die" follows the story of a former professional killer protecting a high school student from violence.

In a statement, Jang Hyuk revealed his thoughts about the new film.

The 44-year-old actor delves into his character, whom he described as "dry on the outside but is fiery on the inside."
Moreover, he hopes that Eui Kang would "overcome his trauma" in a "refreshingly straightforward manner."
In addition, he wishes to give justice to the character and portray it with a "fresh style."
"I'm thinking a lot about ways to show a diverse and new style of action since the genre is action. I'm working hard to prepare for an action film in which I can present a new and fresh style, so please anticipate it a lot," he mentioned, as obtained by a Korean outlet.
As for the GWSN member, she promised to "work hard" in order to portray Yoon Ji's emotion and innocence in the forthcoming film.
"I'm working hard to prepare in order to express in detail Yoon Ji's emotions and innocence in the film. I'll work hard so that many people can enjoy the movie and the character of Yoon Ji."
Prior to the confirmation regarding the duo's new movie, Jang Hyuk's latest drama was the 2020 crime thriller "Tell Me What You Saw" alongside Girls Generation's Soo Young and Jin Seo Yun.
Interestingly, aside from "The Child Who Deserves to Die," he will also star in the upcoming drama "Red Single Heart."
GWSN's Anne, on the other hand, has just made a comeback with the group's mini-album "The Other Side of the Moon" with their lead track "Like It Hot."
