Rain Instagram Update: ‘Welcome 2 Life’ Star ‘Thankful’ after Getting COVID-19 Vaccine

Rain is now vaccinated against COVID-19.

The South Korean heartthrob took to social media as he celebrated his move to fight the deadly virus. 

With this, the "Welcome 2 Life" star shared a selfie after getting a jab last June 10 and says that he is thankful that he got vaccinated. 

"Done. Thank you. Janssen. Korean medical staff," Rain's Instagram caption reads, alongside a photo of his vaccination certificate.

South Korea has been rolling out vaccination since February and is said to be on track to achieve herd immunity by November. 

According to The Straits Times, over 8.45 million or 16.3 percent of the 51.8 million population, received their first dose. 

South Korean Celebrities who Recently Got Vaccinated

Aside from the singer-actor, other celebrities opted to get the jab against COVID-19. 

"Crash Landing on You" actor Ha Seok Jin also got his first vaccine. He shared this on Instagram together with a photo of his arm with injection marks. 

"I'm sore. Thank you to our hero medical staff," he wrote. 

The same goes with Im Ju Hwan, who recently starred in "The Spies Who Loved Me." He showed off his vaccination certificate that states that the actor received the Janssen vaccine. 

In a short post, the "Different Dreams" actor explained that he is looking forward to traveling and returning to having a normal life."

"I've been vaccinated. I'm looking forward to returning to my daily life, excluding group restrictions of more than five people, allowing overseas travel, etc. (where is my passport) Medical staff, Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters," the post reads.

Rain's Upcoming Drama

Apart from getting vaccinated, the 38-year-old actor, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, is set to return for two upcoming dramas. 

Following the success of his 2019 drama "Welcome 2 Life," the OG Oppa is making a comeback on the small screen with a new series, "Endless August," set to be released in China. 

In addition, Rain was also confirmed as the male lead star for the upcoming Kdrama "The Ghost Doctor."

Helmed by "Your Honor" and "The Heirs" director Boo Sung Chul alongside screenwriter Kim Eun Hee, whose famous works includes "My fair Lady," the forthcoming fantasy medical drama follows the story of two doctors who have different personalities and skills but ends up combining spirits and bodies in a confused possession.

"The Ghost Doctor" is set to be produced by Bon Factory. The said company was also behind the success of "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim," "Master's Sun," "She Was Pretty," and more.

As for the actor and Rain's wife Kim Tae Hee, the power couple appeared in a joint commercial for the massage chair brand Bodyfriend. 

Interestingly, the award-winning actress appeared shy and awkward in the behind-the-scenes video; however, Rain comforted his wife and mentioned, "Now that I think about it, this is our first time acting out a scene together. Let's just do it like we are at home."
