On July 19, the upcoming web drama "Blue Birthday" released a set of refreshing new concept posters. Now, don't be fooled as this web series stars Red Velvet's Yeri and PENTAGON's Hongseok as star-crossed lovers, which will definitely make you cry.
In the newly released teaser images, Red Velvet's Yeri and PENTAGON's Hongseok make the viewers' hearts flutter as they pose and smile for the camera. The two "Blue Birthday" lead actors exuded charms and innocence.
"Blue Birthday" Invitation and Other Details
"Blue Birthday" is a fantasy romance thriller drama produced by Playlist Originals, Playlist Originals, the studio that released some of the most popular web dramas "A-TEEN," "A-TEEN 2," and "Love Playlist."
The web drama is helmed by filmmaker Park Dan Hee and written by Goo So Yeon and Moon Won Young.
The drama stars Red Velvet's Yeri as Oh Ha Rin, a 28-year-old woman who works at an abandoned animal protection center, whose first love passed away 10 years ago on the day of her 18th birthday.
PENTAGON's Hongseok will play the role of Ji Seo Jun, a cheerful and kind boy who has caring eyes and bright smile that took Oh Ha Rin's (Red Velvet's Yeri) heart away. He is the friend and main love interest of Oh Ha Rin.
Actors Lee Sang Jun, Kim Gyeol Yu, Park Joo Hyun, and Kim Yi Seo will also appear in the drama series.
ReVeLuvs (Red Velvet's official fandom name) and Universe (PENTAGON's official fandom name) expressed their shock and thoughts about the web series in various social media sites. Many expressed their reactions about the huge twist in the web drama that will surely leave them crying.
The drama is scheduled to air on July 23 at 7 p.m. KST on Naver TV. It will also be available on August 6, 7 p.m. KST on YouTube.

The 28-year-old South Korean singer and actor Yang Hongseok made his debut as a vocalist of the group PENTAGON in 2016. In the following year, he made his acting debut with the South Korean family drama film "The Love That's Left."
In 2019, he co-starred in a romantic comedy television drama "Best Chicken" as a charming troublemaker with former IOI member Kim So Hye and Produce X 101 contestant Park Sun Ho.
The actor-singer also appeared in the web dramas "On The Campus," "Anniversary Anyway," "Twenty Twenty," "Phoenix 2020," and the 2021 series "Move to Heaven."
Meanwhile, Yeri appeared in a cameo as herself in the 2016 hit television series "Descendants of the Sun" and 2021 tvN one-act drama "Drama Stage." "Blue Birthday" is her first major role as an actress.
