Jang Ki Yong showed off his new hair transformation ahead of his enlistment.

On his social media, the "My Roommate is a Gumiho" star drew the fans' attention with his buzz cut in preparation for his military service.

Over Jang Ki Yong's Instagram, the actor shared a balck and white photo revealing his short haircut.

Aside from this, he also penned a thoughtful message from fans, thanking them for their overwhelming support throughout his career.

In a handwritten note, the 29-year-old actor says that he is looking forward to his safe return.

"Hello, I'm Jang Ki Yong. Thank you for loving me and supporting me as I was able to spend my 20's happily. Sincerely, thank you. I'll be back bravely and healthy for another wonderful day in my 30s. Thank you and love you all...," the note reads.

The South Korean star is expected to leave today for his enlistment as mandatory military service.

On July 26, his agency, YG Entertainment confirmed the date and will be after wrapping up his new drama.

"Actor Jang Ki Yong will enlist as an active duty soldier on August 23 after concluding filming for his drama "Now, We Are Breaking Up." To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the location and time of his enlistment will not be revealed," Jang Ki Yong's agency mentioned in an official statement.

'Now, We're Breaking Up' Release Date and Cast

Following the confirmation of cast, the forthcoming SBS series is creating a massive buzz due to the fresh team up with the main characters.

Moreover, this is also the hallyu queen's comeback in the small screen after her 2018 drama "Encounter" with Park Bo Gum.

Helmed by "Dr. Romantic 2" director Lee Gil Bok and written by the genius behind the series, "Misty" Je In, the upcoming series will revolve around love, heartaches and breakups.

In the melodrama, Song Hye Kyo will take on the role of Ha Young Eun, a design team manager who works for a popular fashion label and is set to meet the talented and young freelance photographer Yoon Jae Guk, played by the "Born Again" actor.

"Now, We're Breaking Up" release date is scheduled to premiere in November.

Upcoming Press Conference to Pre-Record to Give Way to Jang Ki Yong's Enlistment

After the news came out regarding the actor's military service, the producers of the show announced that the press conference will be pre-recorded and set to be released

before the "Now, We're Breaking Up" broadcast.

In a statement, the management explained that it is important for the fans to see their chemistry so instead of conducting the press conference without the actor, they have decided to film it in advance.
