‘Yumi’s Cells’ Season 2: What to Expect in Kim Go Eun’s Love Journey?
Now that "Yumi's Cells," starring Ahn Bo Hyun and Kim Go Eun, concluded the first season with a surprising ending, there are many reasons why viewers need to look forward to the upcoming sequel.
The tvN Friday and Saturday series follow the story of an ordinary office girl named Kim Yumi (Kim Go Eun) who lives an interesting life, all thanks to her cells at Sepho village.
After years of staying single due to a failed relationship, Yumi chose to open her heart after meeting the game developer Goo Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun.)
With Woong being straightforward and Yumi having a hard time expressing her emotions, the two ended up with a mutual decision to break up and move on with their lives.
Is 'Yumi Cells' Season 2 Possible?
After the "Yumi's Cells" finale broadcast, the "Goblin" star shared still cuts on her Instagram alongside a heartfelt message for fans.
"Thank you for loving # Yumi's cells. Let's meet again in season 2," Kim Go Eun's Instagram caption reads.
Apart from the actress' confirmation regarding the second season, PD Lee Sang Yeob expressed in April that the webtoon-based drama will be in multiple seasons; hence announcing that "Yumi's Cells 2" is likely to happen.
Although the cast and director confirmed the second season, fans are wondering how many sequels will they produce, given that season 1 only covered 1/3 of the webtoon, which has a total of 500 chapters.

What to Look Forward to in 'Yumi's Cells' Season 2?
Release Date
After successfully wrapping up the first season last October 30, it is safe to say that the team is gearing up for the production of "Yumi's cells" season 2.
According to outlets, the second season might air in 2022 after it was reported that the team had begun filming the sequel.
This only means that the broadcast network tvN will soon announce the "Yumi's Cells 2" release date in no time.
Live-Action and 3D Animation Rolled into One
"Yumi's Cells" definitely gave the Kdrama fandom a spin as the rom-com series brought live-action and animation romance to life.
Moreover, it is the first K-series that combined two elements to create such a promising show.
For season 2, viewers could expect another entertaining scene from the adorable cells at Sepho Village headed by Yumi's primary cell, Love alongside Emotion, Reason, Fashion, Lust and everyone's favorite, Hungry Cell.
On the other hand, "Yumi's Cells 2" stimulates the viewer's curiosity whether GOT7 Jinyoung's character Yoo Bobby will introduce his cells.
Will it Be Yoo Bobby or Goo Woong?
Although Yumi and Goo Woong agreed to end their relationship in an amicable way, there's no denying that she is still hopeful for his return.
Remember in the last scene in "Yumi's Cells," episode 14, where Yumi stares at Woong as he leaves the area hoping that he will turn around and look at her; unfortunately, that's not the case for the once happy couple.
Despite this, viewers are looking forward to the chemistry between Kim Go Eun and Ahn Bo Hyun and hope that their characters will end up together.
Meanwhile, others ship Yoo Bobby and Yumi's relationship. Now that they are both single, some thought she should give up on Woong and move on with another person.
