The actor also shared his sole inspiration in reaching his goals and bettering himself as an actor.

Kwak Si Yang, who stood strong as a villain in SBS TV's high-rated drama "Lovers of the Red Sky," expressed his utmost gratitude to fans and viewers. He said, "I worked really hard for the drama, so I was secretly expecting a lot. Thank you for all the love that so many people gave to the drama."

"I had various discussions about the visuals to best exude a villainous aura, and at the same time, I also really wanted to work with director Jang Tae Yoo."

The final episode of the drama, which aired on October 26, recorded an average nationwide viewership ratings of 10.4%, setting a personal best for the drama.

Kwak Si Yang On Working With Kim Yoo Jung, Ahn Hyo Seop and Gong Myung

When asked about the secret to the drama's success, Kwak Si Yang answered, "Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop's individual performance and remarkable chemistry really contributed to the drama's success. They both showed off their unique personalities, that's why a lot of people were interested in the story."

According to the actor, the whole cast and crew of the drama enjoyed the filming atmosphere. He laughed and said, "There were a lot of times where I stood from afar with a proud smile."

He revealed that Kim Yoo Jung was the mood maker of the production team. "The atmosphere becomes brighter whenever she arrives. She is a free-spirited and easy-going friend whom you can easily talk to."

On the other hand, Kwak Si Yang feels a lot closer to the two fellow actors, Ahn Hyo Seop and Gong Myung, than ever. He said their friendship is the foundation of their great teamwork during filming.

The "Lovers of the Red Sky" star, interestingly, shared that he found inspiration from the "Squid Game" star, Lee Jung Jae.

Lee Jung Jae's performance of Prince Soo Hyang in the film "The Face Reader" greatly affected Kwak Si Yang's mindset and willpower. He said, "Lee Jung Jae's portrayal of Prince Soo Hyang left a deep impression on me, so I worked hard to bring some aspects of his acting to my own performance."

On the other hand, Kwak Si Yang is set to appear in JTBC's upcoming melodrama "IDOL: The Coup," which follows the stories of idols who have failed to achieve their dreams. He will lead the drama alongside EXID Hani, Kim Min Kyu, and more.
