Popularly known for his villain role in JTBC's "Itaewon Class," Ahn Bo Hyun gained the viewers' attention for his flexible acting. Most of the people see him as an accomplished artist due to his previous and upcoming big projects. But did you know? Before he rose to fame, Ahn Bo Hyun had to take different jobs not related to acting in order to support himself.
Ahn Bo Hyun Shares His Humble Career Journey
Not all celebrities started big and were born with silver spoons in their mouths. Some had to take different routes before landing at their dream job, and Ahn Bo Hyun is one of those inspiring individuals who did not hesitate to try doing works that are far from his current job as an actor.
In his recent guest appearance in the variety program "Knowing Bros," the "My Name" star shared to the cast and the public that he struggled a lot to pay for his living expenses before making it to the show business.
Ahn Bo Hyun confessed that he had many part-time jobs like working in a food court, gas station, and delivering newspapers in Gangnam.
The 33-year-old actor made his acting debut in the revenge series "Golden Cross" in 2014. But started to become noticeable in the eyes of the viewers when he appeared in Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's 2016 drama "Descendants of the Sun" where he played the role of a military soldier.
Despite the recognition he continued to receive, Ahn Bo Hyun's salary was not yet enough to pay the bills. So the next thing he did, he again looked for part-time jobs. The male star said that being recognized due to his dramas did not exactly equal to having enough money to maintain living costs.
He continued to share a heart-breaking experience he had when he started working in a construction site.
Ahn Bo Hyun mentioned that in his circle of friends in Busan, his home province, Bo Hyun was as famous as Song Joong Ki. One day, when he was busy working at the construction site, his friends video-called him. Since they were his friends, he immediately answered the call. But unexpectedly, it turned out that his friends wanted to display their friendship with him to some of their friends. When they saw him wearing a safety helmet and working in a construction site, all Ahn Bo Hyun's friends went silent.

'My Name' Star Ahn Bo Hyun Starts to Build His Name in the Entertainment
Fortunately, in 2018, after working hard, Ahn Bo Hyun experienced stability in his career as an actor. From his outstanding performance in "Itaewon Class" to being the male lead of his own dramas in "My Name" and "Yumi's Cells" the actor is finally receiving the recognition that he deserves.
From minor roles to becoming one of the rising leading men in Kdrama, Ahn Bo Hyun is expected to dominate the industry in the upcoming months.
In fact, on November 3, he is already confirmed to star again in a new series "Military Prosecutor Doberman" with his newest leading lady Jo Bo Ah. The Kdrama is about to meet the viewers in the first half of 2022.
