After eight years, Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun's blockbuster series "My Love from the Star" will have a Japanese remake. Released in 2013, it is among the iconic Kdramas released by SBS that stars Hallyu's sought-after actors. 

'My Love from the Star' Japanese Remake Slated to Premiere in January 2022

According to outlets, the rom-com series officially has a Japanese adaptation with the country's brightest stars. 

Sota Fukushi will take on Kim Soo Hyun's role as Do Min Joon, while Jun Ji Hyun's character Cheon Song Yi will be played by Mizuki Yamamoto. 

The upcoming adaptation is set to be released in January 2022 through Amazon Prime in January 2022.

Both Japanese stars have a slew of notable dramas under their belts. 

For model turned actress Mizuki Yamamoto, her claim to fame is the novel-based high school drama "The Kirishima Thing" and appeared in various magazine covers. 

As for the 28-year-old Sota Fukushi, his career skyrocketed after portraying Gentaro Kisaragi in the Kamen Rider franchise.

Apart from the Japanese adaptation, Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun's Kdrama has also had an epilogue titled "You Who Came from the Stars" and several remakes like Chinese, Thai, and Filipino. 

"My Love from the Stars" is helmed by Oh Choong Hwan, who also directed "Start-Up," and Jang Tae Yoo, the genius behind the recently concluded historical fantasy series "Lovers of the Red Sky."

The story follows the unusual romance between Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi. 

In the Korean series, Do Min Joon is an alien who landed on the Earth during the Joseon Dynasty period.

He managed to adapt to having features of a human and senses like hearing, vision, and speed. 

Decades have passed, and he crosses paths with the biggest Hallyu star in Korea, Cheon Song Yi.

The Kdrama fandom was stunned by Jun Ji Hyun's fashionable outfits playing the role of sought-after star Cheon Song Yi in "My Love from the Star."

Seemingly, she stunned the fans once again with her off-the-runway looks in the 2016 Kdrama "The Legend of the Blue Sea" with fellow Hallyu star Lee Min Ho. 

The fantasy series was her next project after the mega-hit series with Kim Soo Hyun. 

Now, she returns to the small screen with a never-before-seen role as an elite park ranger in tvN's "Jirisan" with Jun Ji Hoon.

The thriller mystery series is the duo's reunion after starring in Netflix's "Kingdom."

As for a 33-year-old heartthrob, he made waves after landing the role of Moon Gang Tae in the top rating Kdrama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" with Seo Ye Ji. 

Interestingly, he will return to the small screen with a soon-to-be-released series "One Ordinary day" with Cha Seung Won and will debut this November 27.
