Gong Yoo's agency, Management SOOP, clarifies the issue between the "Train to Busan" star and award-winning singer Taylor Swift. 

An anonymous celebrity gossip Instagram account @deuxmoi, recently posted an Instagram Story containing a forwarded email by someone who works at a restaurant in New York City.

The post claims that the "All Too Well" hitmaker "had lunch with a South Korean actor named Gong Yoo."

Netizens, including Swifties and the Kdrama fandom, expressed their speculations and believed that the American singer is teaming up with the Hallyu star for an upcoming music video.

On the other hand, some fans think it might be for Swift's music video "Enchanted," which is rumored to be released in 2022. 

Gong Yoo's Agency Dismissed the Rumors Involving Taylor Swift

After the news spread like wildfire on social media, Gong Yoo's agency responded to rumors and dismissed the speculations. 

In a report cited by OSEN, Management SOOP released a brief statement saying, "The dating sightings of Gong Yoo and Taylor Swift are rumors."

Moreover, the label also pointed out that the 42-year-old A-lister "has never been to the United States" and is currently busy with his upcoming Netflix series "The Silent Sea."

Gong Yoo is one of Korea's brightest stars who headline numerous blockbuster series and films, including the hit K-zombie movie "Train to Busan" and the iconic Kdramas such as "Coffee Prince" and "Goblin" with Kim Go Eun.

After the success of his fantasy rom-com series "Goblin," the 42-year-old heartthrob is returning to the small screen with another highly anticipated Kdrama, "The Silent Sea."

It follows the story of an elite space crew with a mission to bring back samples from the abandoned research station on the moon and return to the earth safely. 

Aside from the thriller plot, the forthcoming Netflix series boasts a roster of star-studded cast that includes Bae Doona, Lee Joon, Lee Moo Saeng, "Crash Landing on You" actress Kim Sun Young and Heo Sung Tae whose fame skyrocketed after landing a villain role in "Squid Game."

"The Silent Sea" release date is scheduled on December 24 exclusively on Netflix.

The upcoming sci-fi series is Gong Yoo's reunion project with Heo Sung Tae, who took on the role of player no. 101 Jang Deok Soo in the survival-themed series. 

Fans were surprised to see the Hallyu star in his cameo as the organization's psychopath salesman who slapped the debt-ridden Seong Gi Hoon (Lee Jung Jae) multiple times. 

Interestingly, "Squid Game" director Hwang Dong Hyuk hints that Gong Yoo might reprise his role in the second season, adding that the sequel will focus more on his character and the frontman, played by Lee Byung Hun.
