Bae Doona was once hit by dating rumors involving her "Sense 8" co-star Son Seok Ku and the issue regarding her split with British actor Jim Sturgess.
Aside from her notable movie and series in South Korea, the 42-year-old star wowed Hollywood with her outstanding acting skills and versatility. She appeared in several international films, including the blockbuster movie "Cloud Atlas," where she met her then-boyfriend.
Bae Doona and Jim Sturgess starred in the 2012 sci-fi film directed by Wachowski Brothers, alongside A-listers Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.
At the time, there were rumors that Bae Doona was in a relationship with the singer-actor, but they only confirmed their relationship in 2015, revealing that they had been secretly dating for two years.
She mentioned it in a press conference confirming that she is dating the "One Day" actor.
"Jim Sturgess is my boyfriend. Previous media reports said we were just friends, but those are the words of my former manager," she said.
The duo was also spotted together at the red carpet during the 2014 Cannes International Film Festival.

A year after the actress announced her romance with Jim Sturgess, Bae Doona's agency confirmed that the couple's break up and the reason behind it was kept private.
However, the British actor gave hints about the reason behind the split, saying that they had a hard time staying in a relationship because of the distance.
"Bouncing between continents makes it hard to maintain a relationship," the actor mentioned as obtained by an outlet.
Bae Doona and her label have decided not to reveal any information regarding the issue.
Currently, the actress is single and busy with her upcoming Netflix series "The Silent Sea" with Gong Yoo and Lee Joon.
On the other hand, Jim Sturgess married his longtime girlfriend, Dina Mousawi, in 2019.

Following the split, the "Kingdom" star was involved in another dating rumor and, this time, with another co-star.
In 2018, Bae Doona was linked to her "Sense 8" co-star Son Seok Ku.
Per Ilgan Sports, the two got close because of the actress' generosity in giving then-rising star tips in acting.
Both stars also reportedly shared quotes and photos of each other.
In addition, the media outlet says that the "D.P" star often visits her place in Dongbinggo-dong district.
Bae Doona Denies Relationship with Son Seok Ku
At the height of the dating rumors, the award-winning actress strongly denied the issue.
Her agency, SBD, pointed out that the rumors were baseless and they "just appeared in the same work and that's it."
