‘Hellbound’ Actress Kim Shin Rok Talks About the Netflix Drama, Working With Yoo Ah In and Drama’s Season 2
Kim Shin Rok graced the small screen with her impressive acting performance in the 2021 occult Netflix series "Hellbound" with Yoo Ah In and Kim Hyun Joo.
"Hellbound" depicts the supernatural phenomenon where people are condemned to hell by the fad religious cult "New Truth" led by Yoo Ah In, who gain power through people's fears.
Kim Shin Rok Talks About Her Character and Working With Yoo Ah In in 'Hellbound'
The occult series "Hellbound" stars Kim Shin Rok as Park Jung Ja, a mother who was sentenced to hell in front of her family.
Kim Shin Rok sat down for an interview and talked about her character Park Jung Ja. She says, "I played the role of a single mother who was one day sentenced to hell. I was very nervous [to act] at first, but my fellow stars reassured me on the set."
"I believed in myself and trusted the production team of the drama. They were really warm and understanding," she continued.

In particular, Kim Shin Rok also shared her working experience with Yoo Ah In who transformed into a cult leader in the series. She said that their filming schedules didn't overlap.
"We filmed together twice. First was when we met the chairman and the second time was when we signed a contract," the actress then praised Yoo Ah In, saying, "Yoo Ah In has his own power. He also has the power to make people believe and fall in love with him with his acting."
Kim Shin Rok Reflects on Her Acting Career
Interestingly, the actress didn't graduate with an acting degree. Kim Shin Rok graduated from Seoul National University, a prestigious university, with a degree in Geography. She took interest in acting when her father took her to a local theater and was fascinated by the arts and life told through acting.
According to the actress, she works hard with the thought to explore the world of dramas and movies, and aims to be recognized as a good actor.

When asked what a "good actor" is, Kim Shin Rok answered, "The definition of it changes. I think I want to become a good actor who can portray the world through a character who meets the viewers, rather than being just a character in a drama itself."
"I want to become an actor who can portray the unique and smallest role to a role that leads the whole ensemble," she finally added.
Kim Shin Rok on 'Hellbound' Season 2 and 'One Ordinary Day'
When Kim Shin Rok was asked about the second season of "Hellbound," she answered with a laugh, "The ending for Park Jung Ja, and the whole drama could be interpreted in various ways. Director Yeon Sang Ho is such a storyteller, so it could lead to season 2. But I'm worried that the ssecond season will come out 20 years later."
On the other hand, Kim Shin Rok longs to know herself more and how she will improve her acting skills to prepare for more projects in 2022.
Moreover, the "Hellbound" actress is currently working with Kim Soo Hyun and Cha Seung Won in the Coupang Play's original crime drama "One Ordinary Day."
