Revenge-fantasy drama "Bulgasal" depicts the story of Dan Hwal who becomes immortal after carrying out a mission as a military officer to eliminate the remains of the previous dynasty. He has been living as immortal for almost 600 years.
Lee Joon Dishes on His Enigmatic Role in 'Bulgasal'
The "Vampire Detective" actor will star as Ok Eul Tae in tvN's fantasy drama "Bulgasal." He is a bulgasal (mythical creature that feeds off human blood and cannot die or age because of a curse) who lives as a wealthy man in the modern era. Eul Tae has the power to manipulate the people around him.
He is about to play a role that is different from his previous ones. According to Lee Joon, he was enchanted by Ok Eul Tae's first appearance. The actor had thought before that he could have a fun experience if he accepted the role, and so he did.

The "Woman with a Suitcase" star introduced his character as special, saying, "Ok Eul Tae always does something unexpected. He also has amusing and cute sides."
Lee Joon continued he gets to express his new role in different ways possible, and said viewers will get to discover a pleasing personality of him with his character.
tvN Unveils Lee Joon's Captivating 'Bulgasal' Stills
tvN just revealed Lee Joon's character still cuts for "Bulgasal," drawing attention from fans. In the photos, Lee Joon exudes a combined charisma and mystery as Ok Eul Tae.
Lee Joon said he felt a little awkward because of his hairstyle and fashionable clothes that he doesn't usually wear. But he took the challenge to do a big change as it suits the character of Ok Eul Tae well.
Meanwhile, Lee Jin Wook and Kwon Nara are part of the main cast lineup. "Bulgasal" is slated to premiere on December 18 at 9 p.m. (KST) on tvN.
On the other hand, Lee Joon has another K-drama in the worls, alongside Gong Yoo and Bae Doona. The new forthcoming sci-fi drama "The Silent Sea" will meet the viewers on December 24 on Netflix.
Further, the award-winning actor is also confirmed to lead the historical-romance drama "Red Single Heart" in 2022, where he will share screen with "My Roommate is a Gumiho" actress Kang Ha Na and Jang Hyuk.
