Lee Junho and Lee Se Young's "The Red Sleeve Cuff" receives massive popularity in Taiwan and ranked first in friDay, Taiwan's largest OTT platform, beating "Now, We Are Breaking Up" and "One Ordinary Day." 

According to the report cited by Star News on January 7, the MBC historical drama gained massive popularity for two months since it premiered in Taiwan.

Taiwan's largest OTT platform friDay revealed that MBC drama "The Red Sleeve Cuff" ranked first in the rankings since December 2021.

friDay serves more than two million movies, dramas, and entertainment programs from different countries, and among all those shows, "The Red Sleeve Cuff" has maintained its No. 1 position for two months, beating Japanese anime "Knife of Destruction" (which ranked 4th), and Taiwanese variety program "Extreme Adventure" (5th). 

The sageuk drama also beat Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong's melodrama "Now, We Are Breaking Up," which came third, while "Running Man" came second.

Kim Soo Hyun's suspense series "One Ordinary Day" ranked 12th.

friDay has been producing enjoyable content in the past years by significantly increasing the purchase of Korean and Japanese dramas, and American movies.

In addition, "The Red Sleeve Cuff" also airs in Taiwan real time with Korea, indicating that Taiwanese viewers are enthusiastic about the drama.

The K-drama is highly praised not only for its popularity but also for its work quality. In fact, it scored 4.9 out of 5 from friDay.

Other media outlets such as Marie Claire Taiwan commented, '"The Red Sleeve Cuff" is really great for all actors and people behind it worked hard to produce such an excellent drama."

Taiwan Fans Want to Have a Meet and Greet with Lee Junho and Lee Se Young

Meanwhile, Lee Jung Won, CEO of Lian Contents, who exported the sageuk drama to Taiwan, said that Lee Junho and Lee Se Young's series is in demand in Taiwan. He added that it is expected to contribute greatly to continuing the Korean craze in the said country.

Lee Jung Won also highlighted fans' interest in meeting the drama's main actors Lee Junho and Lee Se Young soon.

MBC's Friday-Saturday drama finished its broadcast last January 1 and recorded a high viewership rating of 17.4 percent during its finale.

Lee Se Young and Lee Junho also remain the most buzzworthy Kdrama actors for six weeks, while "The Red Sleeve Cuff" tops the rankings for eight consecutive weeks as the most popular drama.
